The Mitsubishi Concept XM promises space and style

A few weeks ago, Mitsubishi announced the arrival of a new prototype. In that image we discovered it was just an update of an earlier prototype, the eX Concept. Now, the Japanese show us the first image of XM Mitsubishi Concept, which is nothing more than a very similar version of the production of its compact size minivan.

Mixture of styles

Mitsubishi wanted to play with various styles in designing their new model, although it is still a prototype.
We only have one image, but it is clear that we have a combination of the minivan body with certain elements of the SUV. Customers who need more space can benefit more, but the car is also appealing to those who care about a more robust and tough aspect.

Regarding the previous eX Concept, the changes are minor, just in terms of the shape of the rear and wheels. These changes announce the imminent arrival of the production variant with standard size tires and less futuristic solutions. We still do not know what the inside will be like but the Japanese brand promises a large space (up to 7 seats) and top modularity.

The XM Mitsubishi Concept will be presented in Indonesia in just one week. It is no coincidence, and it is expected that the production model will be manufactured in Indonesia, considering a potential Asian market. It is yet unknown if Mitsubishi will sell the XM in Europe, although it would not be surprising considering that SsangYong, to cite one example, offers a similar alternative with XLV, already installed on the European market.

According to Mitsubishi, this prototype is very close to a new model whose production will begin in October 2017. By the forms of their body, the car is a mixture between a minivan and an SUV.

It can accommodate seven occupants in three rows of seats that can be configured in "many positions". It also has roof bars to transport objects on it and protections in the lower part of the body that "allow safe driving on unpaved roads or during tropical storms." There is no more no information about the dimensions, engine, inside or items of equipment. Only a few details have been given about the look of the dashboard, with combinations of white, black and silver.
