Willys AW unveils its 380 Berlinetta at Motor Show of Bologna
|   Saturday, December 20, 2014
Willys AW has revealed its new model 380 Berlinetta during the motor show of Bologna and will start manufacturing it from 2015. The Berlinetta is having a body based on a unique pattern which is a combination of two companies of Italy and they are Carrozzeria Viotti and Maggiora.

The Interlagos is now a licensed type of Alpine A108 which was also built by exactly the same Willys which got so much of fame after Second World War for which to they would like to thank to MB Military and Civilian CJ for Jeep as well.

Underneath its bonnet there is Porsche used underpinning with a 2418 mm wheel base that is of first generation based Porsche Boxster. Though you should note that Willys revival/ Alpine has a body which has nearly 160 mm more wide and 90 mm more long that that of Boxster.

There is a 3.8 liter tuned turbo charged six cylinders boxer engine behind passenger seat. It seems like they have borrowed it from 911 Turbo of Porsche. Its motor has been longitundinally strung out generating 455 kilo watt power with 830 Nm torque. The rear wheels get power from its six speeds transmission. Its drive train endows 1350 kg with this AW 380 having acceleration of zero to 100 km per hour within 2.7 seconds of time as per the company norms and it can produce top speed of 340 km per hour.

It has 19 inched alloys of 265/35 clad with rubber up at front and at rear it has 20 inched rims having 345/30 tires. A variable rated hydraulic powered steering system is there to guide front wheels. Ceramic composites work as brakes present in each corner and can bring the vehicle from high speed to sudden stop instantly.

Few people got surprised after watching this doing debut at the Bologna's motor show because it resembles the Renault's Alpine A108. This is because Willys had built 822 pieces from 1962 to 1966 of Interlagos model which was based on Alpine. The first ever Brazilian sports car is now resurrected by Carrozzeria Viotti and Maggiora, having a contemporary look on classic design.

Willy's AW 380 will produce around 110 units only for January, 2015 for the fans who are waiting to buy it at 380,000 Euros. It will be set and assembled in Turin of Italy. With 3.8 liter twin turbo charged and six cylinders engine it will produce around 610 BHP which is nearly 455 kW and around 830 NM means 612 LB FT. It has carbon plated fiber body which reduces its weight enormously weighing only 1350 kg.

Length of Willys AW380 is about 4433 mm, width 1940 mm and height 1228 mm and wheel base is around 2418mm with 20 inch alloy wheels at the rear and 19 inch alloy wheels at the front. The Berlinetta has started exhibiting and will continue up to 14 December at the motor show of Bologna. First piece of this model has been sold already which means 109 pieces are remaining to be sold.
