Volkswagen hopes, a smooth arrival of its up-coming Golf will assist it to become a best-selling compact automobile company and let the automaker to reach its goal of overtaking General Motors as well as Toyota in worldwide sales.

The VW Group in the past year, sold nearly 8.27 million automobiles, following GM's around 9.05 million also to the lead over Toyota's 7.95 million sells. The main objective of the company is to sell a world-leading 10 million automobiles by 2018.

The average-range Golf is facing a huge competition from cheaper as well as finest models of other brands, as car makers struggle with a financial crash in Europe and also a low business in China.

Though VW has reached record supplies and higher earnings in comparison with the competitors, but the fresh Golf, to be uncovered in Berlin at present, may not be just sufficient to maintain Europe's chief automaker on its winning line, analysts suppose.

"The achievement of the latest Golf is a matter of concern as the latest version is supposed to be struggling in the market", said the chief of the Center of Automotive Management Stefan Bratzel, at a conference in a think - tank hotel, Germany.

The latest hatchback will provide a variety of features which are expected at luring purchasers to that of what cheaper rivals prepared by the companies like Hyundai, Skoda, Seat and few others as well.

Since pricing of the New Golf has not been revealed till now, it is supposed that it will be less than from its other competitors in the market. It is also supposed that the new version of Golf will be a lot lighter in weight compared to the previous version. The company has cut-down on its emissions and used highly strong steel which provides people a good security in case of accidents.

The current model will be almost .24 inches more in length and about 0.52 inches more in width in comparison with the ancestor car, increasing the interior to fight more successfully with SUVs as well as minivans. To create a center for luxury purchases, VW is making an advanced class cockpit finish along with extra screens and driving help widgets as like in Mercedes' A class as well as the BMW 1 series which arrived in the market last year.

Though critics believe that won't be sufficient for the Golf to tackle the market as its competitors offers a lot more.

"The European (compact) market is completely saturated and the Golf will be a view of attraction at its release", said the director of the Center Ferdinand Dudenhoeffer, for Automotive Research at the academy of Duisburg-Essen, referred to the Audi, Skoda as well as Seat brands. "It has no same meaning for future expansion."

According to the VW group, they consider Hyundai as a serious contender in competition with them. By examining out a Hyundai model at the 2011 Frankfurt automobile show, Martin Winterkorn, VW CEO; was trapped on camera investigating the navigation wheel alteration, and also kept on saying: "Nothing rattles, even BMW can't do that and so do we".
