Volvo and Uber, An Alliance Of 300 Million to Develop Autonomous Vehicles
|   Monday, August 29, 2016
Volvo and Uber have signed a long-term agreement of 300 million dollars to develop autonomous cars and have their own fleet of these vehicles in the future.
The Uber drivers are excited with the new agreement signed by the transportation company.

Uber has partnered with Volvo in the development of autonomous cars in order to have a fleet of these vehicles available in the future.
The agreement signed by Uber and Volvo amounts to 300 million.
In 2014, Uber forged an alliance with Carnegie Mellon University to promote the development of autonomous technology.

In principle, the Volvo XC90 will be in charge of carrying the autonomous driving technology. Volvo will design and sell vehicles to Uber, and from that moment on the company will own the acquired vehicles and use the control system to move and pick up passengers in cities.
In September the streets of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, will be the first where tests will be carried out with these autonomous cars. Users who request a vehicle can find a driver or not, randomly.

This new agreement Uber has concluded raised hackles among drivers of the application who, while not being actual employees of the company or have a contract as such, often complain about the little benefit that remains after each trip.
