Volkswagen undergo a notable increase in deliveries in the same quarter since 2011
|   Wednesday, August 29, 2012
Volkswagen has increased the rate of deliveries by 9.1 percent in 2012 compared to 2011 and the number of vehicles handed over to happy customers across the world within the first seven months is close to 5.19 million.

In the previous year the sales in the same period could not cross a million and hence this is a great achievement for Volkswagen in tough times like this. This can be considered to be a good start to the year and representatives from Volkswagen do not have any intention to hide their joy.

The increase has been possible due to the developing markets of South Africa, Asia and Russia. Western Europe however is a very competitive market with very less scope of any improvement in the coming months.
America also contributed to this year's rise in deliveries as North America has seen close to 457,900 deliveries this year which was 324,000 last year during the same period. The figures for South America are 566,500, an increase from previous year's 538,100.

The Asia pacific region accounted for a large chunk in sales as the figures were close to 1.72 million. China accounted for 1.5 million vehicles sold and India has seen 69,400 happy customers.

Europe accounted for 2.23 million vehicles and Germany, the home market accounted for 708,100 units. Sales in the passenger car unit increased to 3.26 million from January to July and Asia played a big role in sales.
The United States have seen 245,700 units being sold and Russia accounted for 95,600 units. The Volkswagen Group's Audi brand also performed well in the market and has sold close to 852,900 vehicles within the first seven months of 2012.

Audi produces premium vehicles and it did well in the Chinese market with 226,700 vehicles being sold. The United States accounted for 76,900 units and Russia has seen 19,300 units being sold.

The Russian market increased sales by over 40 percent in the first quarter this year and the European market has grown by over 3.1 percent this year. Skoda Automobiles delivered 565,600 units worldwide and parts of Eastern and Central Europe has seen the maximum number of deliveries.
Europe accounted for 152,800 vehicles and the Asia Pacific belt has witnessed 167,300 sold units. Spanish brand Seat has also experienced growth figures this year and a total of 160,400 vehicles were handed over to happy customers in Europe this year.

Germany witnessed the sale of 34,400 vehicles and 12,000 units were sold in Mexico. Sale of commercial vehicles has also witnessed a rise and a total of 317,700 commercial vehicles from Volkswagen were sold within the first quarter of 2012.

Germany accounted for nearly 70,700 vehicles and sales in the European market also increased to 193,600. Overall, this year has been good so far for the Volkswagen Group and the company hopes to be as successful in the second quarter of the year as well.

The automobile sector is headed for stagnation and hence the big players in the industry are working to change the rules of the game. It is hopeful that we will soon move to a new era of automobiles.
