Volkswagen Reveals the 2015 Golf Lineup at Frankfurt
|   Tuesday, September 10, 2013
The first images of Volkswagen's latest Sportsvan Concept has been revealed and this vehicle gives a rough idea of what to expect from the next generation Volkswagen Golf Plus. This vehicle will be joining the dais along with Volkswagen's e-Golf and Golf R at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show next week and Volkswagen claims that this vehicle is a production ready variant of the Golf.

This concept vehicle was designed on a Premium Light Weight Aluminum chassis, designed by Volkswagen and features a spacious interior along with a longer wheelbase.
An increased wheelbase of 50 mm ensures that its cabin is the largest in class while its previous variants such as the Golf or the Estate do not compare. Boot space, head and leg room on this vehicle is high and that gives a sense of privacy in the car.

Boot space has been calculated to be 498 liters although it can be increased to 585 liters by removing all rear seats. This ensures high amount of space inside the car. Overall, the Golf Plus now sports an additional 66 liters of boot space as compared to its predecessor while the Estate is slightly larger than its Plus variant in terms of interior space.

Volkswagen has confirmed that all next generation vehicles of its Plus and Estate segment will be powered by engines borrowed from the current generation vehicles while its turbo charged engines displace close to 109 BHP and 148 BHP depending upon its class and range. Volkswagen claims that their energy efficient engine lineup manages to provide an excellent fuel efficiency of 76.3 MPG along with 95 g/km of CO2, although these figures need to be tested on road.

Some of the modifications made to the next generation vehicles include Adaptive Cruise Control, Heated Steering Wheel, Automatic Head Lamps and Daytime Running Lights. Parking Sensors and Lane Keep Assist have also been added to this car along with a WI-Fi hotspot. Standard equipment on all variants however include air conditioning, seven air bags, an electronic hand brake, type pressure monitor, blind spot indicator along with a 5 inch touch screen.

Volkswagen has integrated this vehicle with the Google Earth monitoring system which as a result makes it driver friendly. You can access information regarding location anytime, anywhere. Although the Golf Sportsvan is larger than its standard version, the Estate is still its largest model. The interior has been updated as well and it does not feel like your standard everyday MPV.

The range of electronics used in this car is top notch and they make sure that the Golf does not lose its touch. The range of improvements made to its interior includes a revised dashboard, built in driver's seat massager along with an optional panoramic glass roof. These unique options are bound to make you forget about the MPV you are driving. Although the Golf is based on its previous generation cousins, major modifications have been made to its ride quality and comfort parameters.
