Volkswagen Looking Forward to Launching Next Generation Vehicles for America
|   Monday, September 23, 2013
Even though it seems that Volkswagen considers the American market to be secondary to its European counterpart, this is not a fact. Volkswagen may have discontinued its best selling European car – Jetta – across America but its 2015 GTI is sure to be rewarding. Volkswagen has a specific set of plans for its American customers and is working hard to meet deadlines.

This vehicle is however not as powerful as American customers would want it to be although it will definitely appeal to a certain section of the society due to its fuel efficient nature.
Considering the global rise in the price of crude, maintaining a vehicle for daily use is quite a task. Competition in the passenger car segment has therefore increased quite a bit. Volkswagen is currently working on an America based version of the CrossBlue Concept, Passat, Scirocco and the GTD.

Experts recently drove America bound CrossBlue in Europe and this vehicle was rated on various scales. The basic idea behind this vehicle was to maintain a fine line between performance and efficiency and Volkswagen managed to get facts right with its new range of vehicles. Americans are known for their wacky choice of vehicles and even though high spaced MPVs are popular across the states, big engines will always be in vogue.

Even though this vehicle does not sport a fancy top speed or acceleration, it is quite reliable when it comes to efficiency, reliability and overall usability. On road, this vehicle was quite user friendly while handling has been improved over its last generation. This vehicle was tested at an old airplane hangar and though its top speed could not be checked, the CrossBlue was put through a range of other high end tests.

Velocity limiting rims and tires has been installed on this vehicle and this helps maintain better traction at all times. On road performance has been evaluated while Volkswagen will be declaring the results soon. Even though a final launch date is yet to be announced, insiders have hinted towards an early 2014 launch date. While world economy continues to tumble day by day, price factors are yet to be ascertained.

Although Volkswagen does not usually manufacture extremely pricey vehicles for the general segment, production costs need to be kept in mind. A range of other high end tech toys are also likely to be installed on this car, hence the CrossBlue is expected to be on the pricey side of things. Details of its power train are yet to be disclosed even though Volkswagen has announced plans to use a six speed DSG transmission system on this car.

With a top speed of 127 MPH, this vehicle is capable of accelerating from 0 – 60 within 7 seconds flat. Even though this is not quite impressive, these figures are decent for a hybrid vehicle. DSG equipped Volkswagens are the thing of the future and most customers are looking forward to this transformation, even though this is generally used on every vehicle in Europe.
