Volkswagen is all set to launch a host of vehicles in the near future
|   Monday, November 05, 2012
Volkswagen Automobiles is all set to launch a twin turbo, dual cylindered version of the Volkswagen Up and this diesel vehicle is all set to compete head on with the Fiat Panda Twin Air. The vehicle was recently showcased at the Sao Paolo Motor Show 2012 and a company spokesperson commented that the engine would be lifted directly off the Volkswagen XL1 which is set to go under production fall 2013.

The two cylinder engine on the XL1 is compatible with all the small cars in the range and there is high possibilities of launching a two cylindered model of the Volkswagen based Taigun Concept in 2015.

The current small segment vehicles from Volkswagen are all based on the innovative MQB platform and a three cylindered version of the Golf is possible quite soon if things go according to plan. The triple cylindered engine range is similar to Volkswagen's four cylindered engine range and this is compatible with the MQB platform. Therefore, the installation on the Golf's drive train will be comparatively easy.

Volkswagen Automobiles has also confirmed plans to launch the all new Volkswagen Phaeton. The Phaeton has never quite been a commercial success since the brand was launched a decade ago; however Volkswagen plans to re launch the Phaeton as its flag ship model when the vehicle is finally launched.

The new Phaeton will not resemble its predecessor in any way and the vehicle will have an all new aspect to itself. Starting from the exterior to the interiors, the vehicle is set to receive a complete makeover and this is good news for the people faithful to Volkswagen. The Phaeton is also set to be designed on Volkswagen's MLB platform and this platform is expected to be used on the Bentley Continental family and the Porsche Panamera family quite soon.

Volkswagen also plans to bring about collaboration with other premium car makers such as Audi, Seat and Skoda if the Taigun meets the required sales volumes. Volkswagen has a huge volume of plans up its sleeve and the future depends solely on the Taigun. The Taigun was in the concept stages when it was first showcased and the initial response had been reassuring.

Therefore, Volkswagen is expecting high sales volumes from the small family car platform of the vehicle. A significant sum of money has been put into the Taigun and high returns are naturally expected. The Taigun is expected to be available in a four wheel drive setup and any further modification is not known of at the moment.

The Taigun is created to tackle the city traffic and as a result the vehicle is targeted towards the urban customers. As far as cruising on the freeways is concerned, the Taigun is up to the mark. Torque production and delivery is optimum and the vehicle is very stable and refined in its approach to speed. These are some of the best qualities of a Volkswagen and as a result nothing less will be accepted in the market.
