|   Sunday, September 09, 2012
The Volkswagen Golf has been the brands most sold car. Other than the Beetle and the Passat, The Golf has been appealing the young fro generations and the car comes with many more specifications than others in the same segment, and it is also much stylish than other hatchback you find. The company announced the release of the new model in Europe and should be in showrooms by the end of 2012. However the American market may have to wait for it for another year and will be available by end of 2013.

The overall shape of the car remain unchanged but the Volkswagen Golf did come with very significant changes. The nose front of the car has been completely sharpened and pointed, the new designs has very sharp character designs and it makes more of a sober and professional statement than it ever did before. The car is also much longer than the previous generation and the new metallic colors make the car look much more attractive. The new car also comes with VW's new design architecture. The new Golf design includes the MQB chassis architect. The architect allows the company to make cars much more feasibly and cost effectively. The MQB chassis has erector seats and the chassis can be reshaped and resized to fit any model of the company. This has helped the company reduce cost significantly, making the Golf much more economical and profitable for the company.

The MQB architect has also reduced the car's weight. The car is now 220 pounds lighter mainly because the MQB chassis reduced the weight of all of the electrical systems and the engineering team also found a way to reduce the weight of the seats and the air cooling system. Even the body shell is now being made of a combination of steel materials that save the car 51 pounds. It seems the new golf may just be what young drifters are looking for in the race tracks.

The car is now 2.2 inches longer and a half inch wider, with most of the extra space given to both the driver and the rear passenger seats. Even the interior design comes with all the goodies. The entire front panel seems to be titlted at an angle that faces the driver and the driving display unit is top of the line system. The center console and the LCD screen comes in many options. The new touch screen comes in three different sizes, 5.0 , 5.8 and 8 inch screens. There are also many sensors in the car that allows the screen to recognize the movement of the driver's hand and will quickly move from standby to power mode automatically every time the driver reaches for the console.

The new Golf also comes with camera driving assistance with both front and rear cameras. The company also installed parking assistance sensors as a standard in EU market. Overall the new Golf is an impressive upgrade from the previous generation without any major changes in the essence of the vehicle.
