Vauxhall Zafira Proves To Be a Very Potent Family MPV
|   Tuesday, February 26, 2013
Vauxhall showcased the Zafira MPV sometimes back and the first vehicles are available across showrooms around the world. This car has been designed in an unconventional manner and the exterior and interior design has been done in an ingenious way. Being an MPV, the Zafira is high on space and is trying level best to satisfy customers who are looking for a ride in the family segment.

For people who want to ascertain every aspect of their car before making a purchase, the Zafira is the perfect vehicle.
It sports the tried and tested engine used in the Vauxhall Tourer and has the right balance between performance and luxury. The high cabin space and boot volume also works in favor of the Zafira and cabin comfort is adequate for people to go on long rides.

The advanced driver ergonomics inducted in the Zafira by Vauxhall is quite efficient and the vehicle is currently in its third generation. The smart and practical interior also works in favor of the car's functionality and the basic transport nature of the vehicle makes it user friendly. The range topping model of the Zafira is powered by a 2.0 liter diesel engine displaces 163 BHP. Although this may not seem to be optimum considering the size of the vehicle, the Zafira is not a performance coupe.

Vauxhall hopes that this vehicle will perform well in the targeted segment and the low ranged engine displaces 134 BPH while emitting 109 g/km of CO2. The third generation vehicle features comprehensive additions and modifications to the engine and this as a result increases performance by a large margin. The dual turbo charged engine displaces 295 ft lbs of torque and on the road this seems to be a great prospective.

The engine performs great at the 1290 RPM mark while the engine red lines close to the 7000 RPM mark. Dynamically, the Zafira is perfectly aerodynamic and quite easy to handle. The steering column has been upgraded and the suspension settings have been modified. Overall, the Zafira feels like an overgrown hatchback and hence driving the vehicle is not a great deal.

The corners however need to be undertaken slowly as body roll is present and the MPV could topple over if the driver is not careful at all times. Priced at £29,185, the Zafira sports a top speed of 135 MPH while accelerating from 0 – 60 MPH is possible under 8.9 seconds. The MPV is pretty fast considering its size and volume and returns an approximate 50.4 MPG. Weighing 1733 kg, it may not be the lightest but it definitely is one of the lightest MPVs around.

Vauxhall is expecting sales of this model and significant developments have been made on the vehicle. Vauxhall has a reputation for designing vehicles that are practical and live long and the Zafira looks like it has a decent brand value. On road figures are also impressive and this is an all round vehicle. With the perfect balance between speed and luxury, the Zafira is one of the most successful launches from Vauxhall.
