Vauxhall to Showcase the Insignia at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2013
|   Tuesday, June 18, 2013
Vauxhall has given the 2013 Insignia a makeover that revolves around refinement just as much as other important factors. Price cuts offered on the new generation Insignia is within the range of £3500 to £5000 and Vauxhall claims that running and maintenance costs have come down considerably as well. Insiders claim that the suspension and steering column has been worked on and this is bound to enhance the way the Insignia drives.

The chassis and body work on the Insignia is the best in class while an additional anti roll bar along with new damper settings and an electric power steering has been added to the ride.
The steering and handling response of the vehicle has also been reworked which results in overall better performance. The entry level variant of the Vauxhall Insignia will be powered by a 1.8 liter engine displacing 138 BHP and will be priced at £16,297.

The standard kit on this model includes DAB, climate control, cruise control, electric seat arrangement and Bluetooth. The diesel 2.0 liter variant of the Insignia is priced at £17,909 while emitting just 119 g/km of CO2 while an advanced variant emits 99 g/km and is priced at £18,749. The 2.0 liter turbo diesel is the weakest link in the entire lineup and the new engines are more refined.

The new models will also be mated to General Motor's latest five speeds automatic and six speed manual transmission options and the transmission changes are most likely to enhance the way the cars feel and drive on real road conditions. The new variants are however unlikely to be available across showrooms for at least a year and the current models will be available till then.

Exterior modifications have also been made to every variant and the most prominent ones are the rear tail, front and rear bumper, lower air intakes and the new head lamps. The light clusters have been enlarged while the suspension received major transformation. A logo bar was also added to the vehicle and the overall dimensions make the Insignia look wider and lower than it actually is.

Interior modifications are also likely although details have not been revealed as of yet. However, a new trim along with dash board changes are likely. The Insignia is a classy sedan and as a result sporty colors are most likely to be avoided. Vauxhall has a detailed idea of what customers expect from their vehicles and as a result there is a very small chance of the next generation Insignia not fulfilling its purpose.

The Vauxhall Insignia is likely to make its official debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2013 while the first batch of vehicles should reach customers by August next year. The Insignia also features advanced infotainment measures which includes an eight inch monitor connected to the center server of the vehicle along with other entertainment measures which aim at enhancing the entire feel of the drive. The Insignia proves to be a great vehicle for daily commuting.
