Vauxhall Showcases the Latest Corsa 1.3 CTDI 16C Ecoflex
|   Thursday, July 11, 2013
The latest Vauxhall Corsa Ecoflex has been launched and this vehicle is powered by a 1.3 liter CDTI engine displacing 94 BHP. The Corsa sports a top speed of 110 MPH while Vauxhall claims that the car emits just 88 g/km of CO2. The basic price of the Corsa Ecoflex is expected to be £16,685 and this includes the slight increases over the current generation model.

Technological modifications have been included on the Corsa Ecoflex and this includes Bluetooth and USB connectivity along with satellite navigation.
New paint schemes are also on offer and Vauxhall plans on offering customization options to attract sales. The Corsa will sport a very basic exterior design and will be tuned to perform effortlessly on freeways as well as city traffic. The turbo charged 1.3 liter CDTI engine is a welcome addition to the car and the engine feels quite comfortable above the 2000 RPM range.

However, move above the range and the engine suddenly lacks power. This makes it difficult to take the Corsa Ecoflex on long drives. This small urban vehicle is perfect for driving in city traffic and its small dimensions, easy handling, smooth performance and gear ratios make it efficient within the city perimeters. However, once you leave the city to enter the freeways, all hell breaks loose.

The Corsa Ecoflex does not feel as comfortable on the freeway and the engine begins to make strange noises on being pushed harder. The Ecoflex sports a high price tag as compared to the other products in the market such as the Eco Boost technology from Ford. This as a result makes it impractical to opt for the Vauxhall.

However, the Corsa Ecoflex is a completely new technology and is quite promising in real world conditions. This as a result should encourage people to try out the Corsa as it does not share any of its credentials with its predecessor. The Corsa Ecoflex is a completely new vehicle with new dynamics and people need to own and drive one to believe that this is actually a Vauxhall. Vauxhall claims that the Corsa Ecoflex is capable of accelerating from 0 – 60 MPH within 12.3 seconds.

While the top speed of 110 MPH may not sound very exciting, it is quite sufficient considering the small engine displacing capacity. The 1.3 CDTI 16V Ecoflex is a one of kind technology and Vauxhall is currently working on the drive train and technology to further develop this technology. This technology has the potential to become the best in class although Vauxhall needs to come up with better fuel efficiency while extracting more power from the engine.

The Corsa Ecoflex is a stable vehicle with practical usability and Vauxhall should sell this product effortlessly. However, the high price is the only barrier the Corsa faces at the moment and Vauxhall should seriously consider reducing the price tag on the vehicle to make it appeasing to the general public as a whole. Overall, the Corsa Ecoflex should not make us complain.
