Vauxhall set to launch the Adam 1.4 Slam in the super mini segment
|   Wednesday, November 07, 2012
Vauxhall has done a lot of background check and market analysis of the leaders in the super mini category, led by Mini and the Fiat 500 range and the car makers are finally ready to roll out the Vauxhall Adam 1.4 Slam. This has been done to taste a slice of the cake in the small car segment and this is not a desperate decision from the experienced car makers.

The Adam 1.4 Slam features a wheel base of 3.7 meters and this is very comfortable for the city traffic.
The turning radium is excessively small and as a result parking will be a breeze. The vehicle will be showcased fall 2013 and is expected across showrooms post March 2013. However, this is a completely new model with new ideas and technologies, unlike the Mini or Fiat 500, which are all based on previous models.

The problem with super minis is mainly the fact that they fail to re innovate and reduce the cost of the models. Vauxhall had kept these problems in mind while designing and as a result, the final product is a masterpiece. Small cars have however made their foray into the market and failed mainly due to their lack in power production which makes them practically unusable on freeways.

The Adam 1.4 Slam however is powered by three different engines, a 1.2 liter petrol engine, 1.4 liter petrol engine and a 1.4 liter four cylindered engine, as is evitable from the name. The engine produces 69, 86 and 99 BHP respectively and all these vehicles are available in petrol as General Motors undermines the need for a diesel vehicle in this segment. GM is confident of the low maintenance and running costs that these vehicles will render and as a result a diesel engine was never in the books.

Another highly affordable 1.0 liter petrol engine is also expected to be unveiled post the launch of the Adam. The vehicle is however in its proto type stages and as a result sales estimates cannot be made. However, with the bold, unique and fresh styling, the vehicle is sure to make heads turn. Vauxhall is targeting the youth as the primary customer base apart from the female crowd. However, this does not reduce the maleness of the vehicle.

With customizable trim options, the vehicle starts from a basic price of 11,225 Pounds followed by 12,650 Pounds for the higher end model, while the extreme top end model costs 13,150 Pounds. However, the vehicle is highly customizable from the exterior. Vauxhall is offering customers 12 different exterior paint schemes along with 20 different rim options as well as an external stimulation package for the Adam 1.4 Slam. Daytime Running Lights, Style Package with three distinct interior trims is also available on the vehicle.

Newer and more powerful vehicles in the Adam lineup is required soon if Vauxhall wants to be successful in the lineup as these models are very incompetent to fight for the crown with big contenders such as Fiat and Mini in queue.
