Vauxhall Ready with Next Generation Insignia VXR
|   Sunday, April 14, 2013
Vauxhall launches the new generation Insignia VXR. The company claims that this vehicle has the ability to reach a top speed of 170 MPH and it is the number that truly draws maximum attention. Vauxhall has paid attention to minor details and the VXR has a renewed appeal around it. However, the number is not the most vital part of this sports sedan. It is a comfortable vehicle that has the need for speed.

The price tag of just £29,995 is the best part about this vehicle and Vauxhall is expecting sturdy demand once bookings open.
The Insignia range was given a minor modification back in 2012 and the latest generation comes in on the heels of its predecessor. The exterior design of the Insignia VXR has been done in an aggressive manner and Vauxhall has added the Super Sport tag to enhance the sports credibility of the Insignia VXR.

There is an electronic speed limiter that limits the amount of torque at the higher end of things and this controls the top speed of the vehicle. This vehicle easily has more power than an Audi S4 or a BMW 335i and is cheap to own and run too. Overall, this vehicle provides the best value for money combination and is reliable too. Vauxhall did not have any major service issues in the past and this is working towards effective brand promotion.
This asymmetrical four wheels drive sedan features a HiPerStrut suspension on the front and rear end which gives maximum support to the vehicle. Comfort level is at an all time high and the cabin is one of the most comfortable in the segment. Vauxhall has aimed at better value for money than the big names in the market and as a result the quality of parts is standard.

There has been no major performance related modification on the vehicle since 2009 and the Super Sports handles quite like its predecessor. The vehicle sports linear power delivery which works towards smooth movement of the car. However, being a Super Sport, the vehicle needs more power and the lack of which is a bit of a downside for the vehicle considering the hype.

The V6 engine lacks a bit of the melodrama that a true performance enthusiast needs although Vauxhall has inserted enough accessory measures to compensate for the lack of power. Throttle response needs improvement and although the vehicle is responsive, it is not overtly powerful. However, the pedal becomes sensitive once the vehicle is pushed to the VXR mode although the big boost of energy that people wait for, never appear from the V6.

The road grip and lateral balance of this vehicle is excellent and traction control is at an all time high. However, the steering column is quite responsive and the vehicle never has to suffer from cases of under steer. This car is the perfect balance between performance and comfort and Vauxhall has done a commendable job getting the perfect combination of speed and control, for the right price too.
