Vauxhall Mokka 4 x 4 under controversy
|   Saturday, November 17, 2012
Vauxhall has plans to launch a new 4 x 4 Mokka and this is in direct competition to the Skoda Yeti, Mini Countryman and the Nissan Juke. The Mokka will first be on sale in the United Kingdom followed by the rest of Europe and Vauxhall will be gauging the performance of this vehicle in the European market before deciding on sales in the other countries. However, Vauxhall is planning a quick upgrade to the Mokka as this vehicle does not have all the things in place that the designers were hoping for.

The handling of the Mokka 4 x 4 is quite critical and the testers were not quite pleased with the way the vehicle handled on track. There was always an unstable component affecting the handling. The engineers from Vauxhall have spent a few weeks with the car in the workshop to fix these problems and as a result the final vehicle does not have any such problems as of now. Refitting the vehicle was a challenge and the engineers had to face some problems due to this. As a result, many components had to be resized to bring the vehicle to perfection.

The power steering has been enhanced electromagnetically with all new suspension and damper controls to suit the needs of the European market and the customers. The Mokkas available in UK will be directly imported from Korea and this will be done contrary to the initial announcement that the vehicle will be manufactured in the UK. The improvement means that the Mokka handles better than before and the ride is more comfortable than before.

The Mokka has a long way to go and this vehicle is not the best in class. The Skoda yeti on the other hand has better performance, handling and a more refined and big feel. The 4 x 4 Skoda Yeti is a better vehicle on the overall front and so is the Nissan Juke, Mini Country man and the Nissan Juke. Apart from the modifications in the Mokka, the vehicle has nothing new on offer. It is therefore wise to wait for the new model from Vauxhall instead of going for the current version on offer.

However, Vauxhall is a trusted brand and it is expected that the company will improve on the standard of the vehicles. Therefore, the upgraded version of the Mokka is worth the wait for the moment. The feel, make and design of the Mokka are outstanding and with high interior space the Mokka is one of the largest vehicles in the segment.

However, if rumors are to be believed, Volkswagen is working towards an upgrade on the Mokka and as a result the vehicle launched could be free from all the glitches that are troubling the brand at the moment. Vauxhall supporters are closely monitoring the situation and it is too early to expect a formal announcement from the company. Therefore the only policy now is to wait and watch and this could prove to be quite fruitful within the next one year.
