TVR Ready to Roll out the New Lineup Fall 2015
|   Sunday, July 07, 2013
British car maker TVR has confirmed reports that its new range of vehicles could be expected to arrive at showrooms within the next two years. The new lineup promises to be completely new as compared to the current generation vehicles from TVR. The basic guideline on which the current generation is based was formulated a decade ago and as a result the base demands change.

TVR recently changed hands and is current owned by video game Millionaire and Aston Martin racer Les Edgar, an automobile enthusiast himself.
TVR currently boasts of an executive board led by three men headed by Edgar and the bosses are considering a lot of options. However, Edgar wants a new platform and designing changes on the new lineup which will give the vehicles their distinctive appeal. Authorities also estimate a base price of £50,000 to £80,000.

Edgar wants to design a car based on the Aston Martin and this front engine, British designed race car will boast a British feel rather than the anticipated performance of the Porsche Boxter or the Cayman. This is an ambitious project although care has to be taken to give the vehicle its distinctive appeal. The vehicles are expected to be based on a rear wheel drive platform along with a front engine and comparison will be drawn with the Jaguar F Type.

TVR will focus on performance, comfort, ride control and precision and Edgar is quite confident that no target is impossible to achieve. Edgar promises to provide super cars to the common man at a rate he can afford and this is the primary target of the company at the moment. Edgar however claims that TVR will not start producing these vehicles in full scale until their demand is ascertained.

TVR is looking at enthusiasts as their primary customers and vehicles from TVR will be designed exclusively for the people who consider driving a passion and hobby. Edgar says that being a businessman and driving enthusiast, he wanted a car which could provide the comforts of driving an executive sedan while offering the performance of a super car.

This however was tough to find and the options available were well out of the reach of common people. This inspired him to own TVR and work on a vehicle which will actually fulfill certain perspectives. TVR's previous owner was captivated by the idea and as a result he decided to sell the stakes of the company which he had denied many buyers earlier. Blackpool Engineering Works now does a major part of the engineering work for TVR and spares of the current models are also provided by the firm.

TVR plans on operating out of the United Kingdom initially while the vehicles will be manufactured at, for and by the people of the region. Even if there are plans for expansion, they are not likely to take place anytime soon. The new cars will sport the TVR brand name and this has been finalized. This looks like a prospective option on the cards.
