Toyota Unveils the Concept ME.WE
|   Tuesday, December 17, 2013
Toyota has recently unveiled the concept vehicle ME.WE which has been designed as an anti surplus vehicle. The vehicle has been designed by Toyota in accordance with Jean Maria Massaud, a renowned French architect. Toyota claims that the basic idea behind the ME.WE was to create something more with the use of something less and looking at the car, the idea seems to have worked perfectly too.

Toyota has labeled the ME.WE a perfect city car and this vehicle has the potential to transform into a 4 x 4, pick up and convertible any time.
The vehicle has been designed on an aluminum tubular interchangeable chassis with polypropylene panels which are also interchangeable. While the total weight of the vehicle is just less than 750 kg, the panel weight nearly 14 kg.

The ME.WE utilizes the same on road technologies as the I ROAD concept which was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show this year. However, the ME.WE features four-wheel drive instead of the three wheel drive platform of the I ROAD. The electric motor however reduces the complexity of a combustion engine and this saves both weight and space. The interior design of the ME.WE is very simple yet authentic and there are hardly things which people will miss once inside the cabin.

However, things are very simple and the vehicle features just a single instrument panel which houses the important gauges as well as the meters. The vehicle sports a waterproof cover while the luggage can be stored under an affordable wrap inside the cabin. Although the interior is not quite sporty, it has all the important features that the driver or passengers might need and this makes the ME.WE a very practical yet economic ride.

Although details of the fuel economy, mechanical and technical specifications have not been revealed, it is expected to be within the reach of most common customers. The one very interesting feature about the ME.WE is that, it can be converted into a complete convertible just be lowered all the windows, including the windscreen up front. Toyota has definitely tried out new ideas with the ME.WE.
