Toyota Unveils the Aygo 1.0 Move with Style
|   Monday, October 28, 2013
Toyota has come up with the latest variant of its Aygo city car and this could actually be its last generation, if rumors are to be believed. This vehicle – called the Aygo 1.0 Move with Style – rivals Peugeot's 107 and Citroen's C1 in market segments and although Toyota unveiled this vehicle back in 2005, it has not managed to live up to its hype. Considering the recent developments of urban commutes, this vehicle is old school.

Toyota has hence made necessary changes to keep it going, although without a change in platform, this vehicle cannot survive.
Toyota deems this to be impractical hence this could lead to the Aygo being axed within a few years. Minor modifications have been made to its latest version to provide refreshed feel to the ride, although they may not be sufficient enough to keep demand afloat.

A redesigned trim level has been added along with personalization options. Toyota is offering 19 inch rims as standard while optional choices have been laid out for customers to choose from. Toyota has also added Tom Tom navigation system with DRL support as well as privacy glass at the rear. This vehicle sports a price tag of £10,610 for its base version while additions could take this price up to £11,010.

This vehicle looks less expensive than a Seat Mii although it is just £20 cheaper. The Aygo 1.0 is still powered by a 1.0 liter petrol engine displacing 67 BHP. This is fine as long as refinement was taken into consideration. Toyota however failed to keep this in check and the vehicle feels disoriented at times. Safety issues have been taken care of although pleasure of driving is missing at all times.

Comfort is an issue and you would not like to spend more time than necessary inside the Aygo. This lessens its credibility along with poor performance figures. Toyota however ensured perfect handling and this seems to be the only positive aspect of this vehicle. Lack of speed makes it a decent handler and you could confidently move around town in one of these.

Small wheel base acts as a positive aspect if you consider its use within city perimeters although it is not suited to freeway driving and even runs the risk of facing accidents. Toyota might have worked hard on its exterior although its interior still needs decent amounts of work. Cheap plastic parts have been used everywhere and gives the cabin a cheap feeling. Spacing is also of major concern and causes neck pain if you are over 6 feet.

Keeping all these in mind, it is safe to say that Toyota have failed to impress with their latest Aygo. If points were given out only for design, this vehicle might have been successful. But keeping everything in mind, we would not opt for the Aygo 1.0 move with Style as there are better options in this price range. A drive test was conducted and reports will be posted soon, so stay tuned.
