The Start Of A New Era: The New Skoda Superb

Skoda stands right now at the pinnacle of its progress thanks to its expressive design and innovative MQB technology. And right now a new model is waiting to be launched in mid-February 2015 in Prague: the Skoda Superb has successfully finished its final technical tests.

Completely redesigned, Skoda's flagship has recently finished its final series of tests, among other things in Eastern Europe. The new Skoda Superb is the top model the Czech brand's portfolio.
With its new design language, new proportions, innovative technology, dynamic features and quality of processing, the car has exceeded all expectations.

Now at its third generation, the new Skoda Superb offers features at the highest level complemented by optimized sizes. The luggage compartment size that characterizes Skoda models has increased even further and defines a new standard in this car segment. Incorporating the MQB technology of the Volkswagen Group, the Skoda Superb brings the quality of a superior car class in the middle segment. The model provides the best value in terms of comfort, infotainment and connectivity systems, safety, sustainability, consumption and performance.

Prof Dr H.C Winfried Vahland, Skoda CEO, said, "The new Skoda Superb is the best Skoda ever. This latest generation of our flagship will appeal to new groups of customers in the business and private sector. The qualities of the Superb emphasize the brand's values and point to the future of Skoda."

The new Skoda Superb will have its world premiere in mid-February 2015 in Prague. Presentation at the Geneva Motor Show will follow shortly after in March. Market launch is planned for the middle of the year.

Skoda Superb represents Skoda's flagship models since 2001. Today, the brand delivered to customers worldwide over 700,000 copies in the first and second generation Skoda Superb.

Skoda representatives say that this model will be positioned in the upper middle class and will be higher than the current model. Skoda will use an elongated version of the MQB platform and the new Superb will be 75 kg lighter compared to the previous model. Regarding engines, it is possible that the new Skoda Superb will use the powerful 1.4 TSI with 125 hp and the range should be completed by 1.8 TSI by 260 hp and, known 1.6 TDI units, and 2.0-liter engines whose power that will vary between 120 hp and 190 hp.

More than that, the wheelbase increased by 80 mm, which means more room for passengers. The updated model is likely to provide a boot space of 625 liters, which can be increased to 1760 liters by folding the rear seats.

The Skoda Superb has always been known for its high quality, advanced equipment and spacious cabin and the newest generation will be one step ahead of its predecessor in those departments.

The carmaker is owned by Volkswagen since 1991 and operates at three locations in the Czech Republic, and in China, Russia, Slovakia and India through mainly Group partnerships, as well as in Ukraine and Kazakhstan via local partners. It employs over 25,800 people worldwide and is present in over 100 markets.
