The Rolls Royce Wraith Driven
|   Tuesday, November 05, 2013
The Rolls Royce Wraith is a great proposition if you are looking forward to be chauffeur driven within a price tag of £235,000. Its wheel base measuring 5.3 meters is also unique in its own way. Rolls Royce is famous for its luxury saloons such as its Ghost and Phantom and it was about time the British luxury automakers tried out something new. Wraith was its perfect option in this competitive market.

People may consider Bentley's Continental GT to be a suitable replacement along with Porsche's new FF.
However, what both these cars lack is elegance and style. While the Porsche has style it lacks elegance, whereas Bentley's Continental GT lacks style. Plus if you are into chauffeur driven vehicles which can also be self driven, Wraith is the perfect option. Ironically, this is the first vehicle from Rolls Royce which is actually eligible and designed for self drive.

The Wraith nameplate has been reincarnated for this vehicle and that itself shows us the dedication behind this build. Rolls Royce has been designing vehicles for a long time now although this is their first sporty venture. The primary question which haunts most enthusiasts is its general dimension and weight. Even though this is a downside, the 624 BHP displacing high torque emitting engine has its positive sides as well.

Rolls Royce has installed a huge 6.6 liter W12 engine designed by BMW and this is where the dynamics come from. Rolls Royce is hardly known for its aerodynamic body design although they are capable of designing cars, steady as a tank. Interior fit and finish on this vehicle is outstanding and if you like to arrive in style and feel good about it, Wraith is the only way to do it.

Unlike most luxury car makers such as Bentley or Mercedes Benz or BMW, Rolls Royce is style and comfort personified. Luxury aspects on its vehicles need special mention and that is a case with the Wraith. High seating position gives a clear sight of the road up front while interior space gives it huge leg and headroom.

If you wish to maneuver this vehicle like a conventional sport coupe or sedan however you are likely to be disappointed. Rolls Royce has not designed this vehicle to be as sporty as we would have liked as it would mean sacrificing on basic luxury and comfort. We are however happy with this final product and drive dynamics is sufficiently poised. A spin round track and on road proved the actual capabilities of this car. If you are looking for a vehicle with decent performance and high comfort and luxury, which could also be chauffeur driven; the Rolls Royce Wraith is meant for you.

Rolls Royce is yet to announce plans regarding optional features around this vehicle although we are not quite hopeful of this being on offer. Exterior performance and aerodynamic kits on a Rolls Royce is unheard of although we appreciate this car and its qualities simply due to its "RR" badge.
