The New Porsche Cayenne -nHonoring the legacy

One of the most successful sport brands in the Automobile segment is the Porsche. A brand that we are all familiar with and a brand that is remembered for the glorious 911 model. The Porsche 911 is perhaps the brands most successful cars and the entire line up is simply breathtaking. You could easily find one in a race track filled with rival cars for drag racing. You could size one up right beside a Lamborghini or a Ferrari and the car may actually beat them both.

Another successful model of the same brand is it's SUV. The Porsche Cayenne, is a 500HP V-6 turbocharged vehicle that has been breaking sales records every year for the past decade. It was perhaps the first to enter the market, I,e the first luxury sport brand to bring in an SUV, one that made you all tingly when driving. With it's great success, the Porsche company decided to make a few additional variants for EU markets. They released a Diesel version of the car which was more less only for the EU market.

Now one would think a diesel SUV can't do much, even if it has a supercharged engine, it could never compete with a petrol engine. Well Porsche never agreed with that statement . Of course this does not mean that the Porsche Cayenne could simply stand up to it's more powerful siblings such as the V-8 line up, but with a C-6 diesel engine, the car is still giving you 260HP and all in 3.0 liter engine. The torque is also magnificent, 406 pound feet to pull around tour entire trailer or mobile home. All of this means that even under heavy conditions the Porsche Cayenne Diesel would never break a sweat. In fact it will give you a much better mileage than any of it's gas counterparts. The Diesel model is to take in fuel at a rate of 19MPG within city limits and 29MPG outside on the express ways.

The price range for the car is also quiet low, which makes it one of the most affordable cars in the luxury range. Starting at a base price of $56.000 it's is right behind the Audi Q7, the direct competitor. I would choose a Porsche over an Audi anyday. You simply cannot get the same sporty elegance in any other brand of cars, not even BMW.

The car doesn't even downshift while driving along the highway , instead the torque booster simply pulls the car faster and faster and gives you the smoothest drive you have ever experienced. One of the leading executives in the company said that they expect the new Diesel Cayenne to be a market participant and will definitely contribute to at least 10 percent of the Cayenne sales. In these times of economic crisis, even the rich need a more efficient vehicle to drive around in, the Porches Cayenne Diesel seems to give them just that. We can only wait and see how the market really responds.
