|   Sunday, March 06, 2016
The British luxury car maker Bentley is back in the spotlight after announcing the launch of a new and more efficient version for the Flying Spur V8 model, which we have already know for a while. The new model, called V8 S, will stay in the British manufacturer's range between the classic V8 and W12 extreme, and it will make its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show.

The new Flying Spur V8 S is proposed with extra sportiness and with a more aggressive touch than the one with which we were used on the standard model, features that can easily be observed both the outward appearance of the car and the performance.

Regarding the technical equipment of the new Flying Spur V8 S, we can say that this one benefits from a twin turbo V8 petrol engine with a displacement of 4.0 liters, able to develop no less than 528 horsepower and a maximum torque of 680 Nm, available from 1,700 rpm.

Compared to the basic version V8, this new model comes with 21 hp extra power. The transmission is ensured through an automatic gearbox with eight reports. With such technical equipment, the Flying Spur V8 S is capable of some outstanding performance, taken into account even the most demanding customers.
The maximum speed the car can reach is 317 km / h, while acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h (0 to 96 mph) is possible in just 4.9 seconds. Which means an improvement of 0.3 seconds time, compared to the basic version V8.

In addition, this version enjoys a more prompt response on the acceleration due to accessibility to the highest possible torque at an engine speed as low as possible.

Equipped with a ZF gearbox, with 8 reports, the British limousine transmits power to both axles in a ratio of 40 – 60, front to rear. Basically, the new Bentley Flying Spur is for customers who seek to run their own car to enjoy its dynamic and quickness.

In the "S" regime, the 8th stage of the automatic transmission is switched off and the paddles for changing gear, situated behind the steering wheel are harmonized perfectly with the dynamic character of the new Flying Spur V8 S.

According to officials from Bentley, thanks to deactivating four of the eight cylinders, the new British limousine indicates an average consumption of 10.9 l / 100 km, and with one full tank can travel 837 km.

Analyzing the external appearance of the new Flying Spur V8 S, we see some new elements that obviously differentiate the model compared to the basic version.

On the outside we see the modified bumper in the style of the Continental GT patterns, which is in the advantage of the model, the black mangle, the 21 inch bicolor rims, Mulliner Driving Specification (optional), a redesigned black air diffuser, tinted front / rear optical blocks and "V8S"' logos on the rear pillars.

In terms of interior space, the V8 S gets three-spoke sports steering wheel and seats upholstered in two colors. Also, the headrests have also been emblazoned with the logo V8 S too.

The starting price for the purchase of the new Bentley Flying Spur V8 S will be announced at the launch event in Geneva, but experts in the automotive world indicate a price of almost 200,000 euros.
