The Los Angeles Motor Show features quite a few supercar launches
|   Friday, November 30, 2012
The Los Angeles Motor Show is a dominant motor show and its importance lies in the fact that it is held in California, one of the largest automotive markets in the US. As a result, the biggest players from across the globe showcase their high performance monsters and latest offerings at the event. Even though the times are tough and the motor show is held rather late every year, it has one of the biggest automobile booking rates in America, although its popularity has decreased over the years.

However, Jim Lentz, the Toyota America head announced that the American car scenario is improving and this is definitely good news for everyone involved. The 2012 Los Angeles Motor Show had a lot on offer, starting from the Jaguar XFR – S Sedan, the all new F Type, the Range Rover, Porsche Cayman, Mercedes Benz SLS AMG Black Series and the Bentley Continental GT3.

Jaguar Land Rover planned a British Invasion planned theme at the Los Angeles Motor Show and the vehicle launches surely corroborated their claim. Jaguar Land Rover seems to have a prosperous future in America and with launches of this caliber there is no reason why the firm shouldn't make it there. All the big players have showcased their latest vehicles and Concept models and this was a hugely successful event so far.

The Porsche Cayman was always high on the performance quotient and is now high on exterior aesthetics as well. The SLS AMG GT3 is a track racing giant and the king of the road at the current point of time. Volvo showcased the S60 Polestar and this machine is rather unique in its own way. It has been placed to rival the BMW 5 Series and could give the German car maker a run for its money.

Ford has showcased the Fiesta ST and the company has made a strategic decision to gauge the low performance market in California. The sales of the Fiesta ST will decide the market for smaller engines in this part of the world and such launches in the future. BMW has showcased its futuristic I series and the i3 and i8 Roadster could be a reality by 2015 if work goes according to plans. This is a milestone for the automotive sector and BMW has been a pioneer in this segment.

With the launch of the BMW i3 Coupe, the German automotive giant has proved that using alternate fuel is not just Tesla's field of expertise. Sales of electric vehicles and hybrids have seen a steady growth in the market and Chevrolet has launched an electric version of the Spark to cash in on the trend. Concept vehicles also had their stay at the event and the Mercedes Benz Ener – G –Force was the top draw at the occasion.

Hyundai has also showcased a top open, bicycle version of the Veloster C3 and that was the real eye candy. California loves super cars and that has been the tradition for ages. Therefore, the vehicles launched at the Los Angeles Motor Show have got the best launch platform possible.
