The Jaguar F Type V8 is the Meanest Kid on the Block
|   Wednesday, April 24, 2013
The fastest, most luxurious and most expensive vehicle from the Jaguar stables is here – the Jaguar F Type V8 S. Priced at £79,950, this vehicle looks similar to its predecessor although a majority of the exterior design has been changed to give this vehicle a hot rod look. Like all other F Type vehicles, the V8 engine block of this vehicle is located towards the rear section of the vehicle and this gives the best ergonomics to the vehicle.

The vehicle features front and rear double wishbone suspension system as well as an all aluminum chassis along with a few major modifications to the interior of the vehicle.
The cabin architecture is completely new while the boot space has been increased to 200 liters. The multi functional steering wheel and column of this vehicle make sure that the F Type handles well.

The cabin also features decent leather work. However the most striking feature of this vehicle is the similarities between the V6 and the V8 drive train measures. Both the engines are mated to an eight speed automatic ZF transmission system although the power displacement of the V8 (489 BHP along with 364 ft lbs of torque) is considerably more than that of the V6.

This vehicle also features an electronic differential in place of a mechanical one and this manages the extra power displacement of the V8 engine quite efficiently. The V8 powered F Type also features 20 inch sports rims along with an Active Dynamic Drive System which allows the driver to fine tune the gearbox as well as the throttle response system of the body. The exhaust note of this vehicle is fairly loud and this instills a sense of speed into the heart of the driver.

The throttle response of this vehicle is immense and the vehicle literally shoots off the starting line once the throttle pedal is floored. On a straight patch of road, this vehicle is very fast and is capable of accelerating from 0 – 100 MPH in under 8.9 seconds. The 5.0 liter V8 engine is the driving force behind this vehicle and this is what makes this engine the more desirable.

The V8 is obviously more attractive than the V6 and performance lovers definitely opt for the V8 at any given moment. Jaguar is confident of tasting success with the F Type vehicles and the additional V8 engine is sure to spice up the profit segment. While the engine deadlines at a massive 5000 RPM, the best segment is within 2500 – 4000 RPM. Driving the vehicle within this limit is usually recommended to gain the maximum amount of power boost.

If you can afford to own one of these beauties, it is definitely worth the money. However, purchasing one is not as easy as it seems. However, if you have the will and the need for speed along with very deep pockets, this might just be the perfect car for you. Jaguar is hoping to reel in the youth with this car.
