The Hyundai Genesis Sedan Will Be Launched On The European Market
|   Monday, November 04, 2013
Hyundai will launch a new model on the` market in Europe in 2014, the Genesis sedan. We are talking about the first premium sedan launched by the South Korean manufacturer on the European market, an important step in the new strategy of those from Hyundai.

The Genesis is already a name in the United States market, but the Europeans will have a new generation of this model. This generation has been presented as a processed digital image of the concept, which prefigures the series model.
The images presented by those from Hyundai, present an evolution of the concept of HCD-14 Genesis.

Hyundai is riding the wave in Europe, with a market share of six percent with folks from Kia. Although Hyundai sales fell 0.7 percent from the beginning of the year compared with the same period last year, the people at Hyundai are far ahead of the overall market decline of 4 percent.

"We've departed from industry convention in many of our premium product, marketing, sales and service approaches, and it's worked out pretty well, with Genesis and Equus now delivering a nine percent retail market share in their premium segments, higher than the five percent retail share Hyundai brand achieves in the overall industry," said John Krafcik, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor America via Auto News.

"This success paves the way for a new generation of rear-wheel drive premium products. HCD-14 Genesis gives a hint of the design direction we'll be taking, and an indication of the focus we're placing on driving dynamics and technology."

Hyundai plans to launch its new Genesis large sedan in Europe next year, challenging German premium brands BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi on their home turf. The automaker said the Genesis will be the first premium sedan sold in Europe, a market where it is hoping to lose its label of value-for-money car.
"We have to overcome the challenge of competing with established European brands," Hyundai officials stated. "We expect the Genesis to play a crucial role in improving our brand recognition."

The new Genesis will have the same engines as the ongoing model, a 3.8 liter V-6 plus a 5.0 liter V-8. The new HTRAC AWD system will be found on one of the engines at the very least.

"We instilled HCD-14 Genesis with a premium-sport 4-door coupe road presence," declared Christopher Chapman, chief designer for Hyundai Design North America. "Its sleek and lightweight silhouette does not punish the wind, but uses fluidic precision with dramatic surfacing that conveys natural restraint. Inside, a driver-centric cockpit prioritizes dramatic sculpture over infotainment button overload. Laminated and milled-wood detailing delivers a fresh, topographical map-like visual interest throughout the cabin-length center console."

Plans to introduce the new Genesis into South Korea next month are being made, after which the United States and other countries will follow next year.
Right now, Hyundai has no premium vehicle in Europe, a place even Japanese premium brands like the Lexus and Infiniti are barely to competing with much stronger European rivals.
