The Ford C-Max Hybrid: Greener and compact for the new World
|   Sunday, September 09, 2012
This year Ford has been focusing a lot on introducing more compact and environmentally friendly car than any other manufacturer in the industry. Clearly a response, however late, to the entire industry which already has successful hybrid vehicles ruling the segment. Chevrolet and Toyota have been successfully dominating the hybrid car market with the Toyota Prius one of the most popular favorite hybrids in the world. It is remarkable how Toyota's Prius actually generated the demand for more Hybrid cars by competitors and hence no car company in the world could resist entering into the segment.
Of course the current economic conditions and increasing value of the oil did persuade them more than consumer demand.

The 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid SEL is the new leading Hybrid vehicle by Ford. The car is much more smoother than any other hybrid in the market and has the highest pickup and torque. It is unbelievable that the car is actually a hybrid, still Ford seems persistent to compare it with the Toyota Prius and hopes to replace the demand for the Prius 5 and Numero Uno with the new compact hybrid.

The inspiration however strong was the Toyota Prius. When any buyer goes to the market looking for a hybrid, all they can think about is a Toyota Prius. It took Toyota nearly a decade to achieve that reputation. So how to change the mindset of the consumer market and replace the image of a Prius as a Hybrid with a C-Max. Well the answer is simple, give the American market something economical and something with a major Woo Factor.

The car is even economical in price with a starting tag price of $25000, the C-Max comes in two separate models with varying options and features. The more juice you put in the tank the sweeter it gets. The c-MAX comes with some of the top of the line features if the Ford line up such as the MyFord Touch, rear view camera, sun roof, heated seats and interior lighting.

Even the exterior is more of a fresh look for the segment. The market is full of many compact hybrid cars but the new C-Max is a much better and much more enhanced look that has attracted drivers that were observing the test drive.

The hatchback is also much more larger than the Prius. The car is more roomy and more comfortable with an excellent climate control system. The interior is also made of high quality materials with a very sophisticated dashboard design. IN terms of mileage however the car has yet to beat the Prius record. The Prius V has record of performing nearly 47mpg fuel rating. With the AC on full blast and driving with the radio on the full ride away, the C-MAX can easily five a 44mpg fuel rating, not bad but could be better. All in all we love the new C-Max and it's nice to see something that actually stands to beat the Prius.
