The Audi A5 DTM to take to the Munich track on the 14th
|   Monday, July 16, 2012
The Audi A5 DTM is set to visit the Munich Olympic Stadium for the second time and this is a sight which every car lover longs to witness. To catch a glimpse of the massive beast and to get an autograph of the Audi drivers, you need to be present at the event, to be held on the 14th and 15th of July.

Last year there were around 50,000 people watching the grand DTM race in Munich and this year the organizers are hoping to increase the number by a considerable margin.
The event to be held across two days will be in a knock out format and numerous DTM machines with professional drivers at their helm are going to race around the track for a shot at the numero uno spot.

There is however a few minor changes that are set to make things even better this year. For example, the race is going to be held in two separate mirror tracks, the runoff areas have been increased to allow the drivers to take their vehicles even closer to the edge and the tarmac has been improved for additional grip. These features are sure to be a treat for sore eyes.

The advantage of this DTM track is that, the spectators have an unhindered view of the whole race track from any given point of the stadium. Apart from this, there are large television screens to offer visuals of the total track as well.

The race will be held on a completely new format, the relay mode. The DTM producers, Audi, BMW and Mercedes Benz, are going to compete for the manufacturer's title and three drivers from each manufacturer, who will participate, have to turn the pits and score the maximum number of point. The team to score the maximum will receive a bye to the next round of the event.

The system is a direct duel, pit stops and tire changing time included. The favorites for the event are definitively Audi, as they have already won the previous DTM manufacturer's duel. However, the competition can never be included as in this stage you never know when the rivals may bounce back and take you completely by storm.

BMW for instance have the new M3 DTM and this car is a monster. With improved engine output, balanced suspension, advanced transmission system, this car is the one to watch out for.

The makers are however confident of the Audi A5 DTM and hope to secure the title similar to the previous year. Everything is left at the hands of Mattias Ekström, the two times DTM champion for Audi.

Both driver and manufacturer are confident of their success and the final standings are however awaited. Edoardo Mortara was however the first to clinch a title for Audi in the beginning of June in the DTM category and his expertise is also needed to win the relay race.

Overall, the event is set to be a success and the 14th is being awaited. Racing enthusiasts cannot hold their nerves till the date and people are rooting for the best car and driver to win.
