The all new Volkswagen Golf is a car to look out for

Volkswagen has been very selective in deciding on the materials and the parts while building the all new Golf. This vehicle can undoubtedly be crowned the best vehicle in the Golf lineup till date in terms of performance, quality of parts, luxury, comfort etc. The vehicle is powered by a 1.4 liter TFSI engine displacing 138 BHP and mated to a six speed transmission system along with a cylinder deactivation system that deactivates two of the available cylinders with fewer loads.

The driving seat is straight and upright and as a result, the driver gets a clear view of the road up front. The seats are comfortable as well as supportive and as a result, a person can spend long times at a stretch inside the vehicle. This makes the Golf quite comfortable for long trips. The Golf also features a host of luxury options in the UK and this trim level has been installed, keeping in mind the need of the European market.

Cruise control, traction control, electronic braking assistance along with electronic steering assist technology has also been installed in the vehicle. The Golf, unlike the Volvo V40 has a certain class of refinement to it. The vehicle features a high level of aerodynamics and ergonomics while featuring better interior trims. The new generation Golf is truly a masterpiece in its class.

The plastic parts used in the interior are soft and do not feel cheap, there is ample use of carbon fiber, even on the dashboard. The vehicle does not have brittle feeling materials on board. The use of such high standard materials on the interior of the Golf is a first on a low budget hatchbacks and this could set up a new trend in the future. The wheel base of the Golf is 4.3 meters and this is smaller than the previous generation of the Golf.

The interior space has however not been compromised on and the Golf features comfortable head and leg room for the occupants, both at the front and rear. The Golf is also quite easy to drive thanks to its smooth steering system and low strung suspension system which makes handling the vehicle an easier task. Corners can be attacked with confidence from the cabin of the Golf and this is the best feature about this vehicle.

The engine is smooth and highly refined and as a result, power development is quite high with the maximum level being close to 6000 RPM. Optimum power is developed at 138 BHP at the 5000 RPM mark and the vehicle is a beast in this range. However, the car does suffer from high end torque; however this is not a real trouble as the Golf will mostly be used within its comfort zone, within the city perimeters.

There is not a sign of a turbo lag and wheel spin has been reduced. As a result, all the electronic stability control measures installed in the vehicle does their job to perfection and hence the new Golf is one of the best in class.
