The 2014 Nissan Rogue Crossover Spotted testing on Road
|   Saturday, August 17, 2013
The Nissan Rouge crossover is all set to be replaced by a new variant within 2014. The Nissan Rogue which first made its appearance back in 2007 features no major modifications whatsoever although recently a Rogue based crossover from Nissan has been spotted testing on road. Nissan plans on calling this vehicle the Rogue or X-Trail depending upon the global market.

The Nissan Rogue will be unveiled by the end of 2013 and will be sold as the 2014 version.
The crossover shares some of its features with the Hi Cross Concept which was unveiled back in 2012. Some of the key designing elements of this vehicle are expected to be the sharp nose, sweeping fenders and the planted stance. The general dimensions of the Hi Cross are expected to be similar to that of the Rogue while Nissan has planned on giving this car its unique specifications.

The current generation Rogue finds tough market competition from the Toyota Rav4, Ford Escape and the Chevrolet Equinox. Although the Rogue features a smaller boot space than any of its competitors, the next generation model is set to change all that. The next generation Rogue is all set to be based on the new Common Modular Platform which has been designed in partnership with Renault. However, the new platform has been designed exclusively for the US market as of now.

The 2.0 liter petrol hybrid engine used on the 2014 version is an upgraded form of the current engine although it was previously showcased on the Hi Cross. The Rogue could be showcased at the Los Angeles Motor Show in October 2013 although this is yet to be confirmed. The car was recently spotted testing under heavy camouflage although insiders claim that the proto type is ready for an official unveil.

The all new five spoke design on the rims is also considerably new on the Rogue while the additional Daytime Running Lights do their part of highlighting the car. The rear section of the car could not be assessed following the heavy camouflaging although it looks similar to the one used on the Lexus RS. This however cannot be confirmed without proof.

With the rise in demand in the cross over segment, the Rogue needed a face lift quite desperately and Nissan has done a decent job of modifying the car just when it needed the most. Although details of the interior, upholstery and engine are yet to be showcased, it seems as if this car draws power from a 2.5 liter I4.
The Nisan Rogue was the best seller back in 2007 and Nissan hopes on capturing the demand of the public with the 2014 model as well. The use of modern technology such as the CVT transmission system is a bonus while Nissan hopes to increase the sales for the next financial quarter with the new vehicle. Although these are pure rumors at the moment, experts believe that Nissan will come up with a formal announcement within the next few weeks.
