The 2014 Corvette Stingray is ready to be released on the market
|   Thursday, September 19, 2013
The Detroit Auto Show hosted last year the public debut of the seventh generation of Corvette. Only after a couple of months since the official debut has Chevrolet finally finished the production of the already famous sports vehicle and sent a huge series to the dealers.

A number of 1,000 Stingrays have been assembled in the Bowling Green plant and most of them will reach the showrooms by November this year. So, there are just a couple of days until the Chevrolet fans, mostly those interested in powerful sports cars, will be able to acquire the amazing 2014 Corvette Stingray.

It seems that for the production of the upcoming Corvette Stingray, the Bowling Green plant has requested an upgrade of $131 million which also includes a $52 million investment in order to start producing all the new and improved aluminum frames in house.

Therefore, Chevrolet must expect a lot from the freshly launched 2014 Corvette Stingray as it has been a huge investment.

A lot of articles have been written about the exterior appearance of the upcoming model from Chevrolet, it seems that it has drawn a lot of opinions, positive but, mostly, negative. However, the new sports car has a lot of impressive technical features which are quite a premiere for the Stingray.

Powered by a 6.2 liter, V8 engine which is able to produce 460 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, the Stingray is also able to reach 455 horsepower only with the standard exhaust system. The upcoming vehicle is definitely able to reach a top speed of 190 mph, quite impressive!

Chevrolet's stuff is all quite excited for the big event happening this fall. The plant manager of General Motors' Bowling Green Assembly Plant, Dave Tatman has expressed his satisfaction when seeing all the transporters starting their journeys towards the showrooms. What is more, he guarantees that all the vehicles have been designed and produced following a very strict, yet contemporary, technology and mirror the already famous quality that has been provided by Chevrolet throughout the years.

The Bowling Green Assembly has manufactured 1,000 Corvette Stingrays so far and all of them are going to be sold in showrooms starting this fall. The dealers are actually eagerly waiting for their orders.

Of course, as in all the vehicles created by Chevrolet, there is a first for the Stingray as well: the extremely lightweights aluminum frame is actually the most powerful foundation designed for a regular Corvette. It has been SAE certified with 455 horsepower (339 kW). Therefore, we can easily conclude that this is the Corvette that incorporated the best performance and results as it is able to reach 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds.

What is even more impressive, the 2014 Corvette Stingray is economical too. The EPA has evaluated this vehicle at 17 mpg in the city and almost 29 mpg on the highway. It's quite amazing as there is no other car which can be evaluated better than producing 455 horsepower with a 29 mpg on the highway.

In order to preserve the tradition, Chevrolet has designed and manufactured the 214 Corvette Stingray in the same plant – Bowling Green – ever since 1981.
