Suzuki unveils the new face lifted Splash
|   Thursday, September 27, 2012
Suzuki is ready with its geeky and high roofed mini MPV, the Splash and the vehicle is a face lifted model of the previous edition of the Splash and the vehicle has just received minor cosmetic changes to enhance its visual aesthetics.

The revamped Splash sports a new bonnet and front grille, revamped front and rear bumpers, side skirts, new paint schemes and a few interior modifications that have lifted the standards of the Splash. But, this is a viable excuse to take a look at this car and admire its visual aesthetics.

However, the engine has not been worked upon and the Splash basically uses the same engine as that of its predecessor. The Splash has three optional engines depending upon the choice of the driver and the three engines are 1.0 liter petrol engine, 1.2 liter petrol four pot engines and a new 1.2 liter SZ 4 spec.

The different engine specifications are available depending upon the trim options of the various cars and the vehicles basically share the same external parts and drive train features of the Swift. The SZ 4 engine is mated to a six speed automatic transmission system or an alternative five speed manual gear box.

The new Splash is quite exciting to drive and this is mainly due to the enhanced aerodynamics of the vehicle which is achieved due to the modification in the exterior panel of the vehicle. The Splash has a decent grip on the road and the body is fairly stable for riding in average speeds. However, high speed turns could turn risky. However, no one will actually try taking a high speed corner in a Splash. So basically this car is pretty safe.

The steering is not as accurate as that of the Swift but that can be forgiven once you take into account the weight of the Splash. This excess weight helps adjust the car and the power to weight ratio of the Splash is decent.
The Splash does not have that thrill when you are pushing the accelerator hard and it is only above 9000 RPM that you feel the vehicle moving. This is a downside for performance freaks, but on the other hand, the Splash is quite an amateur friendly vehicle. Therefore, this could be your very first car if you have been planning to buy your first car.

The cabin space of the Splash is basically the same as that of its predecessor as no major changes have been made. The finishing on the cabin is quite basic and the parts are standard with no high quality material use inside.

The Splash can accommodate five fully grown adults without much trouble or you could load up the vehicle with luggage. However, both are no t possible at the same time. The asking price of the basic model of the Splash is 9.325 Pounds and the basic 1.0 liter engine is capable of top speeds of 109 mph and the vehicle accelerates from 0 – 60 mph in 12 seconds. If these figures do not bother you, then the Splash is basically the perfect vehicle for you.
