Subaru Plans on Unveiling the 2014 WRX next Month
|   Wednesday, August 28, 2013
Subaru is all set to showcase its production ready version of the 2014 WRX at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month. This vehicle is based on the 2013 WRX Concept showcased last year at the Los Angeles Motor Show and much of this car resembles the original vehicle on which it was based. The concept was earlier showcased at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2013 and is expected to go on sale fall 2014.

This will be the only five door sedan in the Subaru lineup when the car goes for sale early next year, although Subaru is rumored to cut off on the five door policy.
Subaru could launch a three door version of the car for sports utilization and this is a high possibility. The WRX is expected to draw power from a 2.5 liter 4 cylinder 265 BHP displacing engine although a higher powered engine is also available.

The top end version is expected to displace 305 BHP and this should be the WRX STI. This gives us a basic idea of what to expect from Subaru this coming year. Subaru also plans on redesigning the Legacy / Outback for 2014 while the XV Crosstrek is currently undergoing remodeling to be out in the market fall 2015.

Although Subaru is yet to officially comment on its future plans, the launch of the 2014 WRX is confirmed news. The company is making no qualms about people going hyper about the launch although the company is trying to keep the covers from getting blown, prior to an official unveil. However, this could be easier said than done. The Subaru Impreza and the Forester is set for a 2017 reveal and Subaru is working closely to modify the next generation range of vehicles.

Subaru is also quite keen on remodeling the seven seated Tribeca although the current generation model is not quite in favor. The WRX on the other hand had been under wrap for a long time and hence it will be a pleasure finally getting to see the wraps off the car. According to well placed sources, Subaru plans on showcasing both the standard and the STI models simultaneously this year. Both the vehicles should come out simultaneously as well fall 2015.

Both the vehicles are also likely to be showcased at the Tokyo Motor Show this year as Subaru holds a major stake in the Japanese car market as well. Subaru is on an expansion drive at the moment and these cars should be just perfect for the purpose. The WRX is quite futuristic in terms of designing and should be the perfect bet for the market.

Subaru has designed the 2014 lineup exclusively for the younger generation and the cars look their part as well. The latest image shows the WRX without any major camouflage and this as a result showcases the vehicle in its final avatar. Subaru claims that the WRX will be available exclusively as a sedan and although a coupe is likely, the hatchback frame will be dropped for good.
