|   Monday, May 27, 2013
The spy images of the next generation Mini hatchback have surfaced testing on the road and it is evident that minimum camouflage has been used on the vehicle which could indicate at an official showcasing sometime in the very near future. Some of the exterior changes made to the new vehicle are visible over its predecessor and they include an all new front grille, wider head lamps, additional Daytime Running Lights and larger rear lamps.

The third generation Mini is expected to deliver a jump in the overall quality of the vehicle and this is a substantial step taken by Mini to enhance performance, comfort and overall quality of the vehicle.
This vehicle could be showcased by the end of 2013 and this is interesting news. In fact if the new vehicle finds popularity with the masses, every current model of the Mini will be replaced with a newer version based on the technology used in the third generation model.

All third generation models of the Mini are based on BMW's UKL1 platform and Mini claims that a total of 23 different versions of the car could be designed for this platform. Mini currently plans on launching 11 different models on this platform all of which could go into production soon.

Mini is known for its high performance vehicles and apart from the high speed, the next generation vehicles feature optional diesel and petrol drive trains and the most popular engine option is expected to be a 1.5 liter three cylindered engine mated to a six speed manual transmission system. An optional eight speed automatic will also be on offer. Mini could install four wheel drives on its vehicles as the demand for all wheel drive is on the verge of increasing.

None of the current model of Mini features four wheel drives. BMW has almost completed the infrastructure necessary to manufacture the third generation Mini and the training mission is set to commence soon.

The first images of the second generation Chevrolet Cruze is here and the vehicle has been spotted testing on road. The Cruze is not heavily camouflaged and as a result its resemblance to its predecessor is vividly noticeable. The Cruze is expected to go on sale fall 2014 and this will be the first vehicle based on the Chevrolet D2XX platform to be sold globally. Initially the Cruze was expected to be designed on platforms designed by Vauxhall Opel but the plan was changed soon after.

Chevrolet claims that the new Cruze will benefit from added cabin space, increased fuel efficiency and reduction of CO2 emission. This is great news for Chevrolet fanatics. The prototype is expected to be fairly successful in trials and if all goes well an estate, sedan and hatchback versions are soon to follow. Chevrolet also hopes to enhance its range of drive train measures including its range of diesel and petrol engines which could be overhauled shortly. Chevrolet is making all the right noises at the moment and this has definitely stirred up the market.
