Spy Images of the Mercedes Benz SLS AMG Revealed
|   Friday, November 22, 2013
Latest spy images of Mercedes Benz's latest supermodel – the SLS AMG – is finally here although the company is putting finishing touches to its production variant of this vehicle. If rumors are to be believed, this vehicle should draw power from a 4.0 liter twin turbocharged V8 engine which will be replacing the current generation SLS AMG. Codenamed the C190, production name is yet to come by.

This vehicle is still some time off from official unveil although we hope to catch a few more glimpses of this vehicle prior to its official unveil.
This two seated vehicle is still under wrap and we are unsure of any major technical specifications or other details, including interior. Its exterior features major camouflage, as a result of which minor modifications to its body is still unclear. Mercedes Benz is hoping for a July unveil while motor heads and speed enthusiasts should get ready to brace themselves as this will not be a subtle ride.

AMG is known for not being subtle and if this vehicle is truly an SLS AMG replacement, it should be anything but subtle. This vehicle is set to be the range topper very soon as it has been designed to take on Porsche's 911 Turbo within its price segment. Mercedes Benz worked on performance parameters as they wanted to give this vehicle a large performance boost over competition.

The SLC was first launched back in 1971, based on its SL coupe while its sports variant was termed as the GT. The upcoming variant will sport similarities to the vehicle, not in terms of technology although they are bound to share similarities in terms of dynamics. This vehicle is based on an aluminum space frame chassis while its dynamics are expected to be shared with its previous generation SLS.

Double wish bone suspension finds precedence in this vehicle up front while multi link rear suspension is in place. This gives the vehicle advanced dynamics and comfort along with smooth handling and razor sharp aerodynamics. Aluminum and composite panels keep weight in check while major modifications have been made to its engine compartment to reduce the overall weight.

Mercedes Benz uses conventional hinged doors on this vehicle while proportions make it appealing to a large segment of customers. This vehicle is not just for the speed lovers and youngsters but also for auto buffs in general. Mercedes Benz has done away with the gull wings in this vehicle as it is less appealing on its body structure. Lift back styling is also an additional enhancement on current generation models.

The primary rear spoiler engages over 75 MPH while a solid down force is provided which keeps the vehicle grounded. Maximum power displacement occurs at 4500 RPM while its 6.2 liter turbo charged V8 engine block produces generous power. Its secondary 5.5 liter V8 engine block is also sufficiently powerful. Mercedes Benz is looking forward to introducing a smaller 4.0 liter engine block and this should do well considering efficiency norms and demands.
