Spy Images of the Jaguar F Type Coupe Spotted Testing
|   Tuesday, October 22, 2013
Jaguar's latest F Type Coupe has been spotted testing on road along with standard versions of its sedan and convertible. These images come in right as Jaguar plans on unveiling its new F Type vehicles fall 2014. We expect these machines to be unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show although official word is yet to arrive.

Without formal confirmations having been made, we expect a similar power train on these vehicles and this range includes the current V6 and V8 engine options.

Although Jaguar planned on extreme versions of its F Type, such as an RS and S variant, we could also witness a 600 BHP displacing F Type RS GT later next year. This is a dedicated road racer while a proto type has been spotted testing on track, although we are yet to be formally informed of its presence.

On comparing the external structures of both these vehicles, the Coupe features a streamlined and larger rear end which is rather sloped out. However, we are still unsure whether Jaguar will finally modify the rear end of this vehicle to make it compatible with the rear end design of its standard roadster version. These spy images show that the next generation Jaguar F Type Roadster is very similar in appearance to the original C X17 Concept and this gives the F Type a redefined exterior appeal.

Current condition of these prototypes indicate that the F Type could be out for sale within a year and we should get interesting details regarding this vehicle within the next few months. Insiders have revealed that Jaguar started work on the C X17 Concept after the F Type was formally off the table. Hence, it is safe to say that Jaguar's C X17 Concept is based on its F Type rather than being the other way round.

Engineers at Jaguar wanted to design a production version which was more flamboyant than its Concept. Hence, this decision was taken. Jaguar also decided to launch its F Type Roadster first as it was initially considered to have greater demand than its convertible form. This should have a huge impact on Jaguar's halo model although final results can be seen only after this vehicle is formally introduced.

Exterior wise, these vehicles are rather charming and this is primarily due to the varied designing pattern used in this vehicle. While this roadster resembles the Jaguar XF from the front, its roof line has a distinct XK feel while its rear end is considerably new. Hence, when combined, they give the new F Type a whole new feel.

Jaguar has high hopes pinned onto this vehicle and we should get to see the new F Type gain weight in this competitive market. This vehicle has quite a few innovative features which distinguish it from its other competitors. This plays in favor of Jaguar in global markets. We will bring you the latest information regarding the F Type as soon as Jaguar announces further details. Stay tuned for more.
