Spy Images of the 2015 Mercedes Benz MLC Spotted
|   Tuesday, April 29, 2014
Mercedes Benz has started lending final touches to its BMW X6 rivaling MLC. Spy images reveal a part of this vehicle's true identity, which is true to the bold styling concept of the Concept Coupe SUV, showcased at Beijing this month. This vehicle should be ready for production, by the end of 2015 and we can clearly see additional features that enhance the general exterior frame of this vehicle.

A large front grille, sporting a traditional Mercedes Benz badge up front, distinguishes this vehicle from all other SUVs that are currently in line.
Styling is much like a luxury sedan, while we expect it to run as one too. BMW's X6 is getting a lot of hype across global markets due to its innovative features and is due to be revealed by the end of this year.

Exterior wise, this vehicle is quite a treat, while various design cues have been lifted off the S Class Coupe. Tail lamps, headlight cluster, rounded exterior features and lower rear bumper are some of the effective design features of this vehicle and we are waiting for actual renderings to be unveiled. Measuring 4,953 x 2,014 x 1,739 mm (length x breadth x height), the MLC is the largest vehicle in class.

Power is expected from a twin turbocharged 3.0 liter V6 petrol engine displacing 328 BHP along with 354 ft lb of torque. Mercedes Benz has finally worked out all the equations correctly, in order to challenge BMW in their own game. Power is delivered through a nine speed automated transmission system, with a column mounted shift stalk. This delivers power to Mercedes Benz's advanced 4Matic four wheel drive train, along with a range of additional features.

Start / stop, brake energy recuperation and Dynamic Drive select are some of the additional features that are expected on this ride, along with the latest Command Infotainment system, developed by Mercedes Benz. Like all C and V Class vehicles, infotainment on the MLC can be controlled via a touch receptive mouse controller, placed on its central console. This vehicle will sit alongside the G, M, GL and GLK series and are expected to draw in heavy sales.

Potential customers and Mercedes Benz loyalists are quite happy with the efforts on the German car maker's part, while inquiries are pouring in. A high performing AMG variant should be in the pipe line too, similar to other potential SUVs in class. Details are yet to be announced, although we are particularly waiting for interior and engine displacement figures to be unveiled.

Mercedes Benz has been feeling the pressure of other high quality SUVs making it to global markets, for quite a while now and this got them thinking of a new car, which would do justice to their already hyped SUV lineup. We would love to go off road with an SUV, although we are not sure if the MLC should be the vehicle of choice. This vehicle should at least have soft road capabilities, in order to compete in class.
