Spy Images of the 2015 Jeep Jeepster Revealed

Jeep has come up with a new vehicle, between the Patriot and the Compass in terms of price. This vehicle is currently undergoing tests on road and like most of its predecessors, is based on a raised front when drivetrain. This vehicle is also likely to be the smallest vehicle in class even though it will be a Jeep in true sense of the brand. Travelling off road is what every Jeep is famous for doing and the Jeep Jeepster is surely up to that task.

However, unlike most vehicles from Jeep, this car has been designed to perform within the city limits and hence its small dimensions make perfect sense. Based on a smaller platform with even smaller dimensions, the Jeepster is a one of a kind machine from Jeep. With test mules having been manufactured, experts can now truly analyze its performance and that is currently being done by Jeep.

If you though that Jeep could not go down market with its products think again, its products are now compact and cheaper than ever. Since Fiat owns Jeep at the moment, its priority has been to design smaller and more economical vehicles for common people. These cars are efficient, reliable, fuel efficient and cheap. All of these factors are fairly important for survival in this price sensitive market while Jeep has adapted well to its new company policies.

Even though the company has gone way out of its comfort zone to design this vehicle, these efforts were worth it. We can finally hope to find a right hand drive Jeep for the European market, even though this is just rumored at this moment. Better European centric modifications are expected to be made to their future vehicles to appeal to the European customers as well. If successful, Jeep could successfully counter the increasing popularity of Jaguar Land Rover and their market dominance.

Budget products are better suited to increase a brand's market dominance and Fiat has done just that with the Jeepster. It however remains to be seen if Jeep can regain its primitive glory under the watchful eye of Fiat's top officials. Most of this vehicle is based on the underpinnings of the Fiat 500L, even though newer technology has replaced much of its primitive glory.

While America will be getting a 1.4 liter turbocharged diesel engine, Europe will get a smaller version of this turbocharger, due to its stringent emission norms. All wheel drive is also expected to be available in all new models even though the first lot will be devoid of this feature.

There are good news waiting to happen with this venture and we can finally hope to own a Jeep and not spend much on fuel expenses. Fuel economy along with environment friendliness ensures tax benefits from Governments as well and these further enhance the popularity of a vehicle. The entry level model should feature a base price tag of $20,000 even though official word is yet to come in.
