Spy Images of Next Generation Jaguar XE Saloon Spotted
|   Sunday, May 25, 2014
First images of the latest Jaguar XE prototype have been officially revealed, while this saloon is set to enter production, by the second quarter of 2014. The XE Saloon is expected to be revealed at the Paris Motor Show, this October, although official word confirming this report is expected soon. The original shape of this vehicle has been revealed for the first time, via this proto type, hence, hype surrounding it is at an all time high.

Certain areas are still under camouflage, signaling various exterior modifications on its body shell.
Jaguar has built this vehicle on a light weight aluminum chassis, while Jaguar plans on creating a social buzz around this car. Jaguar's all new XE Saloon will be competing against the likes of Audi's A4, Mercedes Benz's C Class and BMW's 3 Series. A frontal shoot of this vehicle, was made back at the Geneva Motor Show, earlier this year, while a press conference was held too!

Contrary to popular beliefs, the next generation XE Saloon will not be different from the current generation models, in terms of design. Be sure to expect an up-market feel, along with engine refinement and high overall comfort. The XE however, draws power from a four cylindered 2.0 liter ‘Ingenium ‘petrol engine and is based on an all aluminum chassis.

Early level trim and price settings are yet to be known, although Jaguar is hoping to reach the top 10 in Europe. However, if rumors are to be believed, experts believe that the XE Saloon should sport a base price tag near £29,000. It should feature a smaller engine than its top end trim level, even though base technical and mechanical components, will be same.

This guarantees decent performance levels. New engine technology is a huge factor aiding greater performance, while fuel efficiency and environment friendliness is yet to be ascertained. We are eagerly awaiting test drives on this vehicle and should be able to get back to you, with a comprehensive review by year end. New engines are in their pre production stage, although they have been cleared for mass production.

Jaguar could be using this drive train in more than one vehicle, although no such announcements have been made, despite insiders dropping strong hints. Jaguar could be using a similar power train on future Land Rover models, although this is currently being considered as of this moment. Jaguar is expected to build a super frugal variant of their XE Saloon, which is expected to emit 99 g/km of CO2 or less.

The standard variant is capable of reaching a top speed of 186 MPH, similar to the current generation 542 BHP displacing XFR-S. Developing the XE is a massive step for Jaguar at this moment and is not a cheap step to take. High returns are anticipated currently, even though final assessments are to be made. Safety measures have been enhanced and we shall get back to you with details soon. Stay tuned for latest updates, news and drive test reviews!
