Spy Images of Mini John Cooper Works and Clubman Spotted
|   Monday, January 27, 2014
First images of Mini's latest performance proto type have been spotted, testing in winter conditions in Europe. The vehicle is highly camouflaged, which makes it impossible to check out its exterior design or interior trim settings. It is too early to comment on the Mini John Cooper Works, as development is still in its early stages. However, we expect moderate changes on these vehicles, since it was showcased at Geneva last year.

Insiders say they have almost completed working on this vehicle.
Hence, we expect a near production vehicle underneath all the camouflaging. Extreme design elements have been followed while coming up with a fresh new look for this car, while we expect moderate styled front and rear bumpers, rear wings and spoiler on this car. Even though mechanical and technical details are far from being revealed, we are aware of a 220 BHP displacing variant, capable of accelerating from 0 – 60 MPH within 6.5 seconds., while Mini claims a top speed of 150 MPH.

Exterior styling is quite different than on most vehicles from Mini, it is quite aggressive while performance packs a punch. A larger body work is in place, which makes this the largest vehicle so far from Mini, until next generation vehicles show up. Mini plans on mass producing convertible, coupe and hatch back variants of this vehicle.

Usual 2 + 1 door arrangements are to be used on this vehicle as well, although 4 + 1 door variants should be available soon. Apart from the John Cooper Works, Mini is also working on a Clubman, which is similar to the last generation vehicle. However, this vehicle is based on a larger wheel base, which gives it greater boot and interior space.

People often consider this vehicle to be as long as BMW's last generation 3 Series vehicles, although both vehicles belong to different categories. A five door hatch back is expected in 2015, although confirmed news is yet to arrive. Considering heavy camouflaging, there is not much we can say about its exterior. However, we are expecting heavy aerodynamic modifications on all next generation vehicles.
