Spy Images of a Dacia Sandero Rivaling Vauxhall Revealed
|   Monday, May 05, 2014
Spy images of a new Dacia Sandero rivaling vehicle from Vauxhall, has been recently leaked. Details are yet to be available, although some believe that this vehicle could sport the ‘Viva' or ‘Agila' nameplate. Scheduled to be showcased at Geneva next year, Vauxhall will finally have two models to sit in a range - along with the Adam - currently dominated by European car makers.

If it is christened ‘Viva', this vehicle would bring back this iconic name plate after 1979.
This car is based on Chevrolet's Spark, although engineering is quite different on both accounts. General Motors have confirmed pulling Chevrolet out of Europe by 2015, which in turn makes the Spark obsolete too. Vauxhall is available in Europe and the Viva could be an ethical way to cater to clients, as well as cut losses.

The Opel Agila is an urban budget vehicle and was expected to be replaced by 2016, although if Dacia comes up with a market capturing Sandero, we could be looking at the next generation Agila sooner than anticipated, as it will be based on a similar type platform. Official prices are yet to be unveiled, even though experts have hinted at a base price of £5995. The Sandero is currently under wrap, although some exterior designs are quite prominent.

A new front grille, modified front and rear bumper, squared rear window and new tail lamp cluster are in place. Power comes from a range of 1.2 liter and 1.4 liter petrol engines, displacing 69 BHP and 100 BHP respectively. Dacia could also be lifting off the turbocharged 1.0 liter power house, from the Adam. This engine block has the capacity to displace 89 and 113 BHP respectively.

Vauxhall is also working on their Corsa, which should be available across showrooms by end 2014. Initially showcased at the Paris Motor Show, this vehicle features similar design elements, as seen on the Adam, although minor modifications are possible on the platform. The Corsa is an integral part of Vauxhall's lineup, which has the capability to take this vehicle to a whole new level.

Astra prototypes have been seen testing, which suggests production models to be out by 2016. Stress has been laid extensively on quality and refinement and we expect it to make official debut across Europe soon. There are numerous design changes on its exterior and the level of camouflaging suggests the same. Interior modifications are also likely, even though it is too early to comment on this situation. We will get back to you with details soon.

Performance is at an all time high, while we expect their test mules to be available for testing soon. Our insiders have promised interesting updates soon. Hence, stay tuned for more. Vauxhall's Viva is an urban commuter and has been designed for enhanced fuel efficiency and comfort. Other interesting launches are likely too, as Vauxhall has quite a few models in their pipeline. Come back soon, as we bring you latest details and drive test reviews.
