Special Edition R8 launches exclusively for the US markets

Audi has spiced up its sales in the SU market with the introduction of the special Audi R8 models, built exclusively for the American market. The model is based on the Audi R8 V10 and the Coupe models and is a limited edition. The car is set to be available from later this year out of which only 20 are set to be limited edition R8 10 models and 30 Coupe models.

The limited edition V10 and Coupe models are set to available in a special body color and stylish new exterior designing.
The R8 is set to be available in a matt gray finish for the first time in the history of the vehicle. The selection edition of the Coupe is set to be available with an exterior splitter and diffuser.

The wheels are 19 inch titanium five arm with dual spokes and the car features GT tail lamps, black exhaust finish and red brake calipers with black surround grille. The interior has also been enhanced with the addition of red leather seats and upholstery and stark red contrasting stitching to give a distinct feel to the interior.

The dashboard is also done up in leather finishing and the navigation system has leather finishing with multifunctional steering wheel support with a better and sportier grip for more comfort. The special edition R8s are set to be powered by a 4.2 liter FSI V8 engine which produces 430 HP @ 7,900 RPM and torque figures set at 316 lb @ 4,500 – 6,500 RPM.

The cars feature Bang and Olufsen® Sound Systems which is known for its record breaking sound system and the car features an additional noise cancellation system which is responsible for cutting out on extra engine noises in the cabin. The noise cancellation device monitors the cabin sound levels and emits electromagnetic waves when the sound levels exceed permissible levels.

The carbon fiber elements reduce the weight of the car and this helps the car accelerate and increase its top speed. The special edition V8 comes in a special white exterior scheme with mid night black contrasting features like the side mirrors, license plates and side blades which give a distinct aggressive look to the vehicle.

The black exterior paint scheme of the vehicle comes with alabaster white contrasting stitches which enhance the look of the vehicle. The car looks quite rich due to its interior design and the special edition vehicles have Special Edition, stitched right across the rear seat covers and the carpets.
5.2 liter FSI V 10 engine of the R8 V10 Coupe produces massive 525 HP @ 8,000 RPM, torque figures 391 lb @ 6,500 RPM. Both the models are available with a six speed automatic R Tronic transmission with ultra light weight technology. The Audi R8 V10 is an extremely fast vehicle and is famous for its speed, handling, and performance.

The Audi R8 V10 accelerates from 0 – 60 mph in less than 3 seconds flat with top speeds of 205 mph.
