Spacious and powerful: 2014 Ford Flex will be available in three trim levels
|   Wednesday, September 18, 2013
Ford is currently updating the Flex series by adding a couple of newly improved features to the previous released Ford Flex. Initially launched in 2007 at the New York International Auto Show, the Ford Flex has rapidly drawn the attention and become one of the best sold SUV/ mini volume vehicles.

In 2013 the company has fully updated the Ford Flex model, firstly by adding a V6 version in order to increase the power. Also, the exterior design has been modified with the single bar grille which has been introduced in order to replace the old three bar grille.
One of the probably less expected changes included the logo change: Flex instead of Ford.

Taking into account the recent update, the Ford Flex will not actually receive so many new characteristics and options for the 2014 model, however, it will be offered in new exterior color shades: Oxford White and Sunset Metallic.

The 2014 Ford Flex will actually be available in three trim levels: Limited, SE and SEL and the standard starting price which has been confirmed for it is $31,100 and the options will also include the six or seven seats version, all wheel drive or just front wheel drive.

Depending on the trim level, there are several different standard exterior features available. The Ford Flex SE version will be available with halogen headlamps, rear window defroster, body color roof and black roof rack side rails while the SEL version will include all the SE option and some extra features such as stainless steel bright beltline, body color door handles and silver roof rack side rails.

Of course, the Flex Limited version will feature all of the options available for the SEL version and a couple of exclusive ones: dual chrome exhaust tips, reverse sensing system, LED taillamps and power door locks with autolock feature.

The interior design remains almost the same as the 2013 model except for the fact that the 2014 flex will include a modified steering wheel, electronic finish panels, fresh clusters and a newly conceived seat trim and foam. The park assist system is an intelligent gadget which makes use of ultrasonic sensors and includes a SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link and will be included on the new vehicle.

Combining the 3D mapping and GPS technology, the Travel Link which will be included on the upcoming vehicle is exactly the contemporary technology which should be included on each newly released model.

Basically designed with a 3.5 liter, V6 engine, the new Ford flex will be able to produce 287 horsepower and it has been rated by EPA at 18 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.

There are two different types of engines available but both of them include the EcoBoost technology and six speed SelectShift automatic transmission, impressive!
Being in competition with 2014 Chevrolet Traverse and 2014 Dodge Durango, the Ford Flex has the advantage of offering three trim levels besides the incredible price which has been announced.
