Some of the biggest performers of the Los Angeles Motor Show
|   Wednesday, December 05, 2012
The Los Angeles Motor Show has seen some of the most exotic car launches this year and a list of some of the top performance cars include the Jaguar XFR – S, Volvo S60 Polestar, Ford Fiesta ST, Mercedes Benz SLS AMG Black Edition and the Porsche Cayman to name a few. The Jaguar XFR – S has been tagged as the sportiest sedan Jaguar has ever created and this came indirectly from the Jaguar Chief Designer Ian Callum.

Not only is the beast a visual treat, it produces a massive 542 BHP.
An aftermarket wide body kit is also available on request and this adds an extra large rear spoiler, larger sports alloyed rims with bright metallic blue paint. Recent launches from Jaguar like the XFR – S and the XKR – S prove to the world that Jaguar is making a strong comeback into the field of mainstream premium segment sports sedans.

The Los Angeles Motor Show has witnessed a few unique launches and the Volvo S60 Polestar challenges the BMW M5 is one such launch. The Polestar is powered by a six cylinder 3.0 liter engine, displacing 508 BHP and is capable of reaching 60 MPH in 3.9 seconds while sporting a top speed of 186 MPH. However, Volvo is quite hesitant when it comes to putting the vehicle to mass production. If they manage to get their priorities right, the vehicle has the potential to sell in huge numbers.

Ford is not far behind when it comes to performance cars and the company has proved that small can be fast too, with the launch of the Fiesta ST. The premium sports segment hatchback from Ford is due to be launched in America fall 2013 and Ford has the juice that the company needs to pump up sales in sluggish economic times like this. The Fiesta ST, unlike most super minis in the segment, will be available in five doors rather than the three door version.

The Porsche Cayman also made its debut at the Los Angeles Motor Show and this vehicle got the most attention from the crowd. Unlike its predecessor, the Cayman is aesthetically pleasing apart from being a killer when it comes to horsepower. This vehicle has the sharpest designing in class and the vibrant yellow paint scheme on the display car managed to stand out in the crowd. Although the specifications have not yet been announced publicly, Porsche seems to have undone outdone itself this time.

The black horse of this year's Los Angeles Motor Show is undoubtedly the Mercedes Benz SLS AMG Black Edition. This vehicle packs in a punch on the performance section and is the best looker in class. Designed by the very successful AMG division of Mercedes Benz and based on the Black Edition, this SLS AMG is a stunner, both on and off road. Unfortunately the specifications for this too has not been revealed as of yet, but company sources claim that the details will be revealed at the end of the Los Angeles Motor Show.
