Singer Creates 2 Exceptional Models Inspired By Porsche's 911 Model
|   Thursday, September 01, 2016
At the event "The Quail, A Motorsport Gathering" specialists from Singer Vehicles Design will unveil two new creations inspired by the 911 model.
Although many already know how interested Singer's creations are, they manage to amaze every time they come up something new and demonstrate a new level of attention to details. These two models, based on the Porsche 911 in the 964 Targa from 1990 and the 964 Coupe from 1994 are no exception.
Introducing The Singer 964 Targa Luxembourg

Each new model created by those from Singer receives a name that corresponds to the place of residence of the owner.
These two copies however belong to one and the same owner. Therefore, the coupe version is called Minnesota and the Targa version is called Luxembourg, in honor of a town in Minnesota, not the European country.

The exterior of the Targa is painted in a "Deep Orange" hue, receiving a removable cover made of carbon fiber. Also, the standard fabric roof can be found in the model equipment list.
The most exclusive bits are inside this Targa. There, "Navy Blue" leather dominates along with "Tyler Tartan" inserts, created from strips of leather painted in 7 colors. The show is eccentric indeed but is incredibly beautiful.
The Singer 964 Targa Luxembourg is equipped with the most potent powerplant available, the naturally aspirated boxer engine with a displacement of 4.0 liters, 6-cylinder and 390 hp.

The Singer 964 Minnesota
In turn, the Singer 964 Minnesota has received an approach equally as meticulous, but a little more discreet. The body was painted "Gunmetal Gray" while the interior was lined with "Tobacco Brown" brown leather. A unique accent is the rev counter with blue background, instead of the orange one, which is characteristic for the Singer 911 models. Unlike the Targa version, the client wanted another engine for the Coupe, namely a version with a displacement of 3.8 liters, created in collaboration with those from Cosworth, which delivers some 350 hp.

We remind you that the each Singer 911 model is based on a used Porsche 911, usually a 964 variant, which is stripped down to the last nut, sandblasted, modified, equipped with exterior panels made of carbon fiber, with an absolutely new electrical system, Ohlins suspension, Brembo braking system, and naturally aspirated air-cooled engines based on units with a displacement of 3.6 liters found of the Porsche 911, in the 993 style.

All Singer 911 models are "stitched" as a costume for each client, the prices of the "suits" starting at 190,000 dollars and leaping easily over 300,000 dollars (in most cases). For the restoration and reinterpretation of every copy, Singer requires 8 - 10 months.

According to Rob Dickinson, the founder of Singer Vehicles Design, clients can now customize the re-imagined models (as he likes to call this restoration process) much more than simply choosing the color of the exterior and powertrain options.
Dickinson said that since 2009 about 50 copies were created and another 80 copies are already on track of being "re-imagined".
