Sergio Marchionne Wants To Move Fiat-Chrysler Alliance HQ In The Netherlands

Sergio Marchionne wants a merger between Fiat and Chrysler and the new entity will be listed on the New York Stock Exchange and will be based in the Netherlands.
Sergio Marchionne, Fiat-Chrysler Alliance president, plans to complete the merger of the two major auto corporations that he oversees. Merging will occur in the near future, after the Italians have managed to buy all the stakes in Chrysler.

Although Marchionne announced in the past that the headquarters of the group's operations will move to the United States, his plans seem to have changed.
According to Automotive News, Marchionne aims to establish a headquarters in the Netherlands, because in the land of tulips rules for a corporation are similar to those in the United States.

Given that Marchionne wants primary listing of the newly established giant Fiat-Chrysler to debut on the U.S. stock market, a relocation of the central operations in a country with a book of rules like the U.S. is beneficial.
The first steps have already been made. Fiat Industrial, Fiat Automobiles' sister is preparing for merger with its counterpart from Chrysler, CNH. Marchionne claims that intersecting destinies of the two companies and the creation of a merger, CNH Fiat Industrial is a first step towards full marriage between Fiat and Chrysler.

CNH shareholders approved the merger, and they have decided on some key aspects of future cooperation between the two entities. It will be called Industrial CNH and its listing on the stock will be in New York, not in Milan.
To carry out such a merger between Fiat and the Chrysler, Marchionne still needs a stake, the last. It is owned by VEBA and could be bought by Italians after a Delaware court decides the legality of the acquisition at the end of July. The court will have to shed some light on the amount Fiat has to pay and to define the terms of the merger.
