Sebastian Vettel on song with another grand prix win
|   Tuesday, April 30, 2013
It was a close fight last year between Red Bull and Ferrari by Alonso getting the better of Vettel. This year Vettel does not want to leave any gap for his rivals. He has come back strong and looks like a man on a mission to outdo his rivals at an early stage. He looks to be at his best as he wins the Bahrain grand prix with ease to get on top of the championship points table.

There was a surprise at the pole position at the start of the race as no one expected Nico Rosberg to be in the pole position.
Vettel gave it a fiery start as he shrugged of the early challenges from the pole positions Rosberg and his Ferrari rival Fernando Alonso. The race turned out to be an interesting one. Vettel looked to play smart with a two stop strategy.

The conditions were tough as it was very hot and tyre strategy became one of the most important things to look at. The Ferrari team mates were looking strong but Vettel seemed to be in a league of his own. The other prominent names were nowhere to be found near Vettel as he ensured that the rivals were way behind him and did not possess any threat to his podium spot. He held on to the leader spot for almost the entire race except for the first two laps.

It was good news for team Force India as Paul di Resta raced to fourth place. This was his best as he equalled his previous performance. There was a tough competition between the men behind Vettel as Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean fought it out to finish in second and third place respectively.

Lewis Hamilton who did not have a great qualifying as he had to face a penalty due to an unexpected change in the gear box was in the mix of the race. He started from 9th place and forced his way to a well earned 5th position as he had his car issues and tyre problems. The race turned out to be filled with action.

Sergio Perez tried hard to hold Lewis Hamilton but the Mercedes was just too good for him at the corners. He was closely followed my Mark Webber into the 7th place in the dying moments of the race.
Fernando Alonso who had started the race strongly had to make emergency pit stops in order to get the problem with his DRS wing fixed that remained stuck in the open position. That made his race pretty bad and he dropped a lot of positions to finish at 8th place.

Starting from pole position Nico Rosberg was not able to impress the crowd much as he dropped points drastically to finish at a mere 9th position behind Alonso. The final position for which a point can be awarded in the race was taken by Jenson Button. After facing a lot of problems in the race he finished strongly in the 10th spot to give the McLaren fans something to cheer about.
