Seat Motors launch the seconds generation Leon
|   Sunday, September 30, 2012
Seat Motors has unveiled the all new 2013 Seat Leon and the company has planned to broad out the segment by deciding to introduce the Leon in three distinct body shapes. Seat plans to celebrate the success of its new model and has hence planned on showcasing the recently launched Ibiza at the Paris International Motor Show 2012.

The prices of the Leon have also been declared and the entry level vehicle starts at 15,670 Pounds for the 1.2 liter S.
The higher end 2.0 liter TDI costs 22,375 Pounds and is in line with the model that it replaces.
The Leon has a five door version and apart from this, the company has planned to launch a Leon wagon. The Leon was considered as the one car for every purpose and with the introduction of the new model, this philosophy is set to be changed.

The S segment vehicle has received the iconic S style statement LED badge for the first time and the daytime running lights enhance the visual aesthetics of the vehicle. The estate and three door versions of the vehicle will be showcased at the Detroit Motor Show 2013.

The Leon is the second vehicle from the Volkswagen group's Seat, to be based on the MQB platform and is the first vehicle from Seat to feature the innovative design technology from the company which was showcased on the IBX, IBL and the IBE concept vehicles.

The sharp technical features have been designed by the VW Group's technical expert and the exterior design has been done by Seat's designing head. The five door Leon measures 4263 mm in length and is 1816 mm in width and 1459 mm in height.

The change in the dimensions is visible and the base model of the Leon weighs just 1250 kg. The engine options on the Leon are spread across a wide range and most of these have been designed for the European market. Seat has offered five diesel engine variants and four petrol variants for the Leon.

Transmission options on the Leon are a six speed automatic and a seven speed manual transmission mated to the engines. Almost all the vehicles on the Leon range feature Macpherson front strut suspension up front and a torsion beam rear suspension.

The Leon FR will feature a seat drive focus which allows the power, ride height, torque output and handling to be adjusted to three modes depending on the driving condition of the road. The interior has a special LED lighting which changes color according to the currently selected mode.
The first generation Leon was criticized for having a nude interior and this is set to be changed with the launch of the second generation Leon. Enhanced connectivity and multimedia options present in the Leon make it a very viable vehicle for daily use.

Fuel consumption figures and Co2 emission of this car is low and this calls for increased tax advantages while purchase. Overall the Leon is in a league of its own with the launch of the second generation.
