Scion Plans on Launching Four Prototypes at SEMA this Month
|   Monday, November 04, 2013
Toyota's sub brand Scion is coming up with four prototypes based on its highly successful FR – S, which is designed on Toyota's GT 86. These vehicles will take center stage at the upcoming SEMA show in Las Vegas later this month. Renderings of one of these vehicles are now available and this vehicle was designed by designer and DJ Steve Aoki. Some of the basic infotainment measures installed in this vehicle include LCD screens, multiple speakers, custom sound system and mixing station with strobe lighting and smoke machine.

It is designed to get a party environment inside the cabin and should do the trick considering the age bracket people at Scion are targeting. However, it is far from production ready although we would love to see such a vehicle in actual existence. Scion is also working on a Bulletproof FR – S dubbed the Concept One and this is taking place I consultation with Bulletproof Automotive.

The Concept One features an interior strewn with carbon fiber along with a tuned engine and wider bodywork. A total displacement of 430 BHP is possible owing to its new turbo charger unit. This vehicle also features a whole new suspension system while its third variant is tuned by Greddy Performance. This vehicle has been prepped to take on drifting tracks and is one of the most powerful and well designed production drift vehicles we have on road today.

This vehicle has a reworked exterior body frame along with an engine displacement capacity of 740 BHP. The fourth variant of the FR – S is called Style J and it shows a futuristic vehicle designed around advanced levels of technology and comfort. While its interior features advanced use of leather and stitching, mirrors have been replaced with cameras for advanced operation.

Scion will also be launching an additional Xb and this vehicle is strictly business class. Scion terms it a business cartel and integrated Wi-Fi with additional stretched electronics and connectivity measures have been installed to give it a strict business feel. These vehicles should do their job of turning around the fortunes of Scion, although we are yet to see practical propositions of these designs.

Live demonstrations should be on soon enough as Scion is currently working on prototypes. We expect these projects to go live by 2015. Some of the leading car tuners will get together by the end of this month to showcase their creations and Scion will give each one a healthy competition.

If any of these vehicles make it into actual production, we will be looking at a new breed of vehicles which will have commercial viability in future. Details of its interior and drive train are yet to be unveiled although we have much important information regarding every new launch. We would personally like to see a sport themed interior on these vehicles as it would go well with its general theme. We will be bringing you the updates soon. Hence, stay tuned for more details.
