Rolls Royce set to capture the market with the revamped Ghost
|   Wednesday, July 04, 2012
Rolls Royce unveiled the new Ghost at the recently concluded Good Wood Festival of Speed. The car is built on an extended platform and has all the features of the previous Ghost. The Ghost is built exclusively for customers looking for a quality sedan with more space than one but not as large as a stretch.

The Ghost is revamped on an experimental basis and is available exclusively for the Rolls Royce campaign at all the Auto Shows this year. Rolls Royce is awaiting the customers' feedback regarding the design and the Ghost is set to go into mass production after the survey.
For now, the previous version of the Ghost is available at all Rolls Royce dealers.
Available in only a single paint scheme of blue and silver, the extended Ghost – as it is being called, as the company has not announced a formal name yet – is perfect for the Good Wood roads as it is powered by a massive V 12 and can climb up the curved roads of the town with ease.

The Ghost features an 8 speed automatic transmission and this vehicle produces 563 HP for the driver to play with and the power delivery is huge and smooth. The car feels stable at both low and high revs and it can go from 0 – 60 mph in less than 5 seconds, which is pretty fast for such a heavy car.

The outstanding performance of the vehicle is credited to the double wish bone front and rear suspension and the car's exclusive ride height. The Ghost comes with an intelligent four cornered air suspension system and this gives the refinement expected from the world's most refined car making company.

The specialty of Rolls Royce is the handmade interior provided in all its models and the Ghost is no different. With a light focused interior, hand stitched leather seat covers and a crème light and navy blue frame bordering the car, the car portrays elegance from the first look.

Rolls Royce hopes to set a benchmark with the new Ghost, it just waits to be seen how the customer react to the modification. Though the initial response has been overwhelming, the makers want to get a confirmed report before making an investment in the re-designing of the sedan.

Priced at $ 246,500, the Ghost has always been Rolls Royce foray into the present premium class luxury sedan, the Phantom being an upgrade of the Ghost. Rolls Royce now wants the Ghost to gain as much popularity as the Phantom, the company's flagship model and hence, the necessary modifications.

The extended Ghost features a turbo charged premium engine with rear wheel drive technology and this helps the car channel power. This is the designing principle based on which Rolls Royce hopes to sell the sedan in Good Wood. Good Wood being a hilly region, the rear wheel drive technology is required for optimum performance.

Rolls Royce has focused on a smart marketing policy to launch the Ghost and the makers are waiting to see if it has done the required job.
