|   Tuesday, March 12, 2013
Renault has finally unveiled the Captur crossover at the Geneva Motor Show and personalization is the major theme behind the vehicle as Renault is offering a list of available options. Renault also claims to have made this vehicle environment friendly and expects the Captur to return high fuel efficiency. The Captur will feature a two tone external paint scheme and this theme will be carried to the interior as well.

External and internal graphics package is available with the vehicle and Renault has introduced an Eight Zip Collection seat cover for the Captur.
Six interior accent colors are available and a range of minor modifications have been made to the interior of the Captur to make the vehicle feasible and attractive. From adding a light weight glove box to increasing the overall boot capacity, Renault has inducted a lot of additional features in the Captur.

This vehicle will however feature left hand drive and Renault has no plans to launch a right hand drive option at the moment. This is a good looking car and is quite promising. It features high interior space while leaving room for interior modifications. However, there is a limit to the modification package while the level of standard equipments is quite high.

USB, Bluetooth and Renault R Link connectivity are available as standard on all models including the yet to be unveiled Clio. Renault is offering different engine options on the vehicle such as TCe 1.2 liter petrol displacing 89 / 118 BHP mated to a dual clutch – Efficiency Dual Clutch (EDC) – transmission system. An 88 BHP displacing diesel engine is also available which emits 95 g/km of CO2 while being mated to a manual transmission system.

The new Clio is designed on the same platform as the Renault Captur and the company claims that this vehicle features improved handling, efficiency and overall performance. However, a drive test was not possible as Renault has not launched a prototype yet. However, if company sources are to be believed, the Captur has the best in class handling and performance.

The vehicle is fitted with a variety of electronic driver assist measures such as Electronic Stability Control, Roll Movement Intervention, etc. The suspension has also been tweaked and this is expected to play a huge positive part in the overall performance of the vehicle. Air bags have also been included and this enhances the safety inside the vehicle. The Captur is one of the most awaited launches of the year and could be available across showrooms by early 2014.

The current model of the vehicle is expected to go into production and the present rim makes the vehicle visually appeasing. The front grille and head lamp gives the vehicle a new dimension while the rear end has also features minor modifications. Renault has high hopes pinned on to this vehicle and the Captur looks like a solid find in its own rights. A launch date has not been revealed. However, Renault is expected to make some serious statements this year.
